Altareto Ora Ĉevaleto (1404)

La Ora Ĉevaleto (germane Goldenes Rössl) estas la ĉefa juvelo de la trezorejo de Altötting kaj majstraĵo de la pariza oraĵista kaj emajla arto de la 15-a jarcento. Ĝi altas 62 centimetrojn, larĝas 45 centimetrojn kaj profundas 27 centimetrojn; ĝi havas surkonstruaĵon el orumita arĝento surmetitan per gemoj kaj orajn figurojn, kiuj estas tegitaj per emajlo. Historio

En la jaro 1404 la franca reĝino Izabela de Bavarujo, Vitelsbaĥanino, disdonis la komision, produkti la Oran Ĉevaleton por sia edzo reĝo Karlo la 6-a de Francujo. Jam mallonge post sia ekesto ĝi iris kiel garantiaĵo por pagenda jara pensio en la posedon de la frato de Izabela, duko Ludoviko la 7-a de Bavarujo-Ingolstadt. Finfine la Ora Ĉevaleto fariĝis, post formorto de la dinastia linio de Ingolstadt, posedaĵo de la dukoj de Bavarujo-Landshut. En 1801, dum la sekularigo, la Ora Ĉevaleto iris al Munkeno, kie oni volis fandi ĝin, sed tio ne okazis. 20 jarojn pli malfrue oni reportis ĝin al Altötting. La laŭbo baziĝas sur malalta volbo portata de kvar dikaj kolonoj, akompanata de du flankaj ŝtuparoj. Sub la volbo staras selita kaj orname bridita grizoĉevalo, kiun tenas rajdservisto. La laŭboinstalaĵo kaj ĉiuj figuroj konsistas el 24-karata (= pura) oro. La maldikege martelformitaj figuroj estas tegitaj per emajlo el blanko, ruĝo, verdo kaj bluo. La arĥitekturo de la sokloetaĝo estas farita el orumita arĝento.
