Danilo Pérez (* 29-an de decembro 1966 en Panamo) estas panama ĵazpianisto kaj -komponisto. Li estis Artisto por Paco de Unesko.

Vivo kaj verkado

Pérez komencis lerni pianludon jam en la aĝo de tri jaroj kaj studis dekjara klasikan pianludon ĉe la Nacia Konservatorio de Panamo. En la salsobando de sia patro li ludis frapinstrumentaron kaj sintezilon. Li iris en Usonon, por studi elektronikon ĉe la Universitato je Indianao, en 1985 li iris por muzikstudo al Konservatorio Berklee.

Post tio li laboris du jarojn kun Jon Hendricks, poste kun Paquito D'Rivera kaj Terence Blanchard kaj Claudio Roditi. Unuafoje li surdiskiĝis per la albumo Reunion de D'Rivera kaj Arturo Sandoval. Ekde 1989 ĝis 1992 li estis membro de United Nations Orchestra de Dizzy Gillespie. Famiĝis precipe la albumo Live at the Royal Festival Hall.

Ekde 1993 li laboris kiel bandestro. Aperis liaj unuaj propraj albumoj: Danilo Pérez kaj The Journey. Kun Sandoval li faris en 1994 la albumon Danzon distingitan per Grammy. Ekde 1995 li estis ankaŭ membro de la bando de Wynton Marsalis. Samjare li surdiskigis kun la panama simfoniorkestro orkestroversion de The Journey. Okaze de la ĉiujara distingado New York Jazz Awards li ricevis en 1998 la premion Plej bona prezentanta artisto aŭ bando. En 1999 li ricevis kompozician komision por la Ĵazfestivalo je Ĉikago; la peco Suite of the Americas aperis en 2000 sur lia albumo Motherland por diskeldonejo Verve.

En 2000 Pérez estis invitata por solokoncerto en la Kulturdomo Kennedy je Vaŝingtono. En la sama jaro li fariĝis kulturambasadoro de Panamo, krom tio li estas fondinto kaj estro de la ĉiujara Ĵazfestivalo je Panamo kaj ankaŭ Ambasadoro de la Bona Volo por UNICEF.

Aktuale Pérez estas membro de la kvaropo de Wayne Shorter kaj laboras kun Ben Street kaj Adam Cruz.
