This image (as viewed 22 Oct 2009) is identical to that found in the publication: "Controlled Probe Surface Chemistry for Nanoscale Contact Deformation", by Catherine A Tweedie, Georgios Constantinides, Gregory S Blackman, and Krystyn J Van Vliet, Mater. Res. Soc. Symp. Proc. Vol. 1021, 2007, page 1021-HH06-01 -- figure 2 (inset). but the author list of that publication does not match the user (User:Deglr6328) who uploaded the image and claimed it was taken by him/her. The Materials Research Society owns the copyright of the article and hence the image, and hence this image is no longer (even if it was at one point) GPL.

Hmmm. I assure you that I created that image on a VCA device and I could easily do another one to prove it. I am afraid Tweedie et. al. and Materials Research Society are in obvious violation of the GFDL.
