Hi, i'll be getting some more pics taken soon when the season starts properly. And I agree, articles are better on here with a photo on them! Dashwortley20:59, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
Steven Arnold (footballer)
A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Steven Arnold (footballer), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Hi. As far as I know, there's no way to block someone from uploading images. (It's either all or nothing.) So I would try again using both the "upload file" link in the toolbox (at the left) and the "file upload wizard" link in the interaction box (also at the left). If you can't get it to work, email the image to me and leave a note on my talk page that you sent an email, and I'll upload it for you. OK? --But|seriously|folks16:55, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
As you figured out, Wikipedia usernames don't work at Commons, so you have to register there as well. I checked the license tag against the Flickr site and you have the right one. You should revise the image summary to indicate that you edited the image out from the original image, because another person looking at the original might not recognize that yours came from it. But other than that, it looks just right to me. Good work! --But|seriously|folks17:35, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
Just so you know, we pretty much can't use fair use images to show living people. So the Craig Farrell image from the magazine cover can't be used the way it's being used. --But|seriously|folks19:41, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
Replaceable fair use Image:Craig_farrell_match_programme.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Craig_farrell_match_programme.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. But|seriously|folks19:41, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Bert Brenen, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
Sorry I just noticed your message. Yeah, no problem. Sorry myself, I was a bit frustrated that day for some reason. Thanks for the note. IvoShandor15:52, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
Fair enough, the consensus is clearly not to have famous fans in club articles, so I have removed them from West Bromwich Albion F.C., quoting the above discussion. Each reference has been moved to the page of the celebrity supporter concerned, although I didn't bother with Eric Clapton as his "support" seemed highly dubious. --Jameboy14:42, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
Peer Review
I do plan to put the West Bromwich Albion F.C. article up for peer review fairly soon. I've been working on it for ages (thanks for noticing by the way) and it's almost in a state that I'm happy with. The history section needs some more work but other than that I think it's just tweaks. One question - would the quality of the daughter articles have any impact on the review rating for the main article? I ask because the 'History' article in particular needs a LOT of work and won't be finished any time soon. Incidentally I live about 10 minutes walk from the KitKat, which probably makes York my second team. I went to the playoff first leg, very disappointing. Cheers. --Jameboy15:13, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

Hey, I can see what's happening here, just be advised that you should try to avoid falling into 3RR territory. I'm having a closer look and will attempt to resolve the situation in my own inimitable style.... ;-) The Rambling Man12:09, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
why do you ignore the policy of wikipedia such as WP:V etcs... on the scarbrough thing when a club chairman, the bbc, the nightly news, the clubs official website, the league all state something then that is vertified infos and wins over unvertified opinion of some random dude.
you clearly don't care about the project or what reasons would you have to a) blank the blue and maroon kit which has been announced on the OFFICIAL website[1], without any reason at all b) trying to paint fans of one team of others as if they are criminals when non others even mention the fact that a handful of fans are banned, like at all clubs.
you seem to be a little boy on a power trip with edits like that, as they're utterly pointless, its on the verge of trolling. people come and put infos in and you think you can just take it off? when its on the clubs official website?.. i'm getting kinda tired of your attitude.--CalcioSalvo12:11, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
please tell me what decent edits you make, i have yet to see one. a guy who stole others photos from around the net and was caught (and banned by an admin for) uploading them as 'his own'[2] trys to tell me what ways to edit. funny. putting little box templates on others added stuff is such 'hard work' now? oooohkay.
you don't like me, i certainly don't like you, we get it... leave it at that. but when you go out of your way to follow me and then scrap out my edits in an attempt to antagonise then we have troubles. like blanking the clubs new officially vertified third kit because... well god knows why because you thought you'd be smart and not say reasons in the edit summary at all ( which you are supposed to ). don't yank a tigers tail if you don't want to get bit.
if you know so much about our articles then you will see that the long featured article and the standard which is followed of Arsenal F.C. features, you guessed it, the official third kit.... explain yourself against that. i only took the more redundant old one out for space reasons, you could have easily just added the older one back but keeping the third one too if you desperately felt the old one was needed too, but no... its not a mattythewhite edit, so you hack it out... also why should york city fans be singled out and painted as criminals, when no other clubs article say things like that? yet all clubs have a handful of people banned (no mention in the Arsenal article of their banned supporters)... your explinations on that please? --CalcioSalvo13:32, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
how are they not decent? as i said adding a little box here and illegally taking others photos as your own is not my idea of a good way. you say my edits not decent, yet i do great research, find infos, vertify everything added in the articles apropriately acording to what is said in the wikipedia rules... only to see you take it back down.
i don't know what you think and so i only go what you put in the edit summary, when you removed the third kit, you gave no reason as to why it shouldn't be there,[3] when it is in other clubs articles... so what else am i supposed to think other than its antagonism?. you say not 'every' article mentions clubs crime?... erm, don't you mean york city is the ONLY club article which paints their fans as criminals? something they're not evem notorious for.... its totally wrong and uneven, if you like to work on articles then why only have yorks fans criminal record brought up in the whole of english football?
on my old salvocalcio one i was blocked for 24 hours not a month, see for yourself on the old designated area.[4] i don't kno what or who you think i am but as you can see, i'm just me. if you wish for us to work together, then maybe discuss things thoroughly before just taking edits off?--CalcioSalvo14:01, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
is this a joke, with this recentism talk?... that is like saying why bother having any of the official new kits up, that is just 'recentism'. when a player transfers to a new club shall we wait a couple of years to make mention of it his article so that it isn't recent?
the club cares enough to make the kits, put them in the papers, put them on the frontpage of the official site and take this seasons squad picture in them, so i'd say yes the club 'cares'.--CalcioSalvo14:25, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
it seems that there is mostly older players who league only stats can be found, so its just a case of finding a good post-war source for league appearences to sort the rest out to match.--CalcioSalvo18:35, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
José Enrique Sánchez
The Villarreal official website (in Spanish) confirms he has signed for Newcastle and Marca (again in Spanish) have said the same. The Newcastle official site hasn't confirmed anything yet but they are notoriously slow at putting news items up. I think it's probably safe for us to have him down as a Newcastle player. Sir-Nobby21:15, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
People are probably just speculating. 3 seems the obvious number but the club haven't confirmed this to my knowledge. Sir-Nobby21:23, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
Sorry. I couldn't resist it apologies. As an SAFC fan, I hate Newcastle, as does everyone I know in real life, and I couldn't resist the temptation to do that on a nufc fan's talk page. Sorry, remove it if it is unacceptable. The sunder king19:23, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
I have seen skysports news and it believes it has been completed, yet on SAFC.com it says absolutely nothing on it, I believe he is a sunderland player, or will be one shortly. The local north east news also said of this transfer. The sunder king14:20, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
Do you think sunderland will be relegated? Skysports predict they will finish 18th, I however see them finishing a lot higher in the table. The sunder king14:25, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
Here is your very own steak! I award you this for your tireless work on football league articles. Cheers! Enjoy the steak. м info03:57, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for removing him from the article SAFC, because he is now the teams goalkeeper coach, and his article needs to be fixed off because its been made to look like he is playing for them. The sunder king15:30, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
please note
The above is not true. Please check the squad numbers link from the main SAFC page. van der Gouw is registered as a player: please stop editing these pages.
I suggest you withdraw the RFA, I am sorry; It's best you go up again in a few months time, and you get an admin coach, or a mentor, apologies. The sunder king16:42, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
Where have you got the information that Darius Vassell is number 12? The club website and the usual other places I check still say 11, and the program for City's final friendly (which had updated numbers for Onouha, Johnson and others) also said 11. Oldelpaso17:54, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
Just found it at about the same time you wrote your reply. City have now released info about "this seasons new squad numbers" twice, with changes both times, strange. Oldelpaso17:59, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
Just letting you know that the standard ice hockey dab is (ice hockey) as opposed to (ice hockey player)... its more brief and to the point... but good work on the move and getting all the links away from the disambig page. Croat Canucktalk19:58, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
i. I claim that as Jack Collison is not listed as an official player on the West Ham website with an official squad number. He should not be added to the Current Squad. He is a youth player, and there is no way he has made the bench for the first team, and thus would rate a Squad number. I can find no website anywhere that lists him as number 39.
ii. Egghead06 claims that he was printed in last weeks programme as number 39.
We need a moderator to decide whether or not he should be added to the offial squad list on WikiPedia.
Not really asking for full feedback on this article (although I wouldn’t mind it). I’d just like to know what you feel the best way the divide up the Career section is, by Club, by season, not at all or some other way. Please leave your reply under the section in my talk page named “Milner Career section”. Buc16:36, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
You've done a brilliant job with the article! Do you think it could be nominated for GA - or is it too soon for that? Davnel0311:20, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
Look at Joey Barton as that is currently going through the GA process. I've made the necessary adjustments made by the reviewer and I'm just waiting for a reply. Davnel0311:23, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
Reverted my Man City edit???
You reverted my Man City edit, saying that it "wasn't constructive"? Can you please explain why? I updated the article to note their 3-0 start to the season, and I eliminated the incredibly-biased comment that "It seems that Manchester is, in fact, Blue." My comments are unbiased; I am neither a fan of Man City or any of their rivals.
I don't know how to reply messages, hope here it is OK.
I can't find where in the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:FOOTY it says transfers should not be added in clubs articles, but it is OK, although my opinion is that they should remain there at least until the transfers period is finished.
In many other Spanish clubs' articles transfers appear right now.
Best regards. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 85.55.137.30 (talk) 17:16, August 23, 2007 (UTC)

Hello there, I thought you might like to look over the article on the KC Stadium. Keith D and I have been working over the last month or so trying to get it up to Good Article status. We've been documenting our progress on the article's talk page and also on a separate comments page. We think we're almost there, but would certainly appreciate other opinions. Please feel free to leave feedback. Cheers. Doonhamer | Banter20:51, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the good feedback Matty. I agree on the concerts. Probably not too much work to flesh that section out; I was using the City of Manchester Stadium article as a general guideline, as it's also of GA quality. Its concert section is also fairly skimpy, but the editors there use a table to "beef it up". I'll also take a look for references inside punctuation, though I thought I'd caught all those. Cheers again. Doonhamer | Banter21:23, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
Hello Matty Bootham Crescent I think that the people who dereamed that one up deserve a little gentle teasing and also that you should never delete material from a discussion page. Its OK deleting from or modifing a main article but legitimate discussion should be sacrosanct. 77.97.161.23014:47, 26 August 2007 (UTC)mikeL

Oh goodness me, the vandalism... well I've been lucky enough to witness a day of vandalism on Adam Gilchrist (on the day the Aussies won the World Cup and he broke all the records) and another on Norwich City F.C. (although I'm pure blue so while I'd helped get it FA, a bit of vandalism was mildly amusing!). Jersey was lovely, never thought I could circumnavigate the whole place in six hours with plenty of stops. I'll get back to Mido as soon as I can, by the way. I think it's virtually there. I don't want to template you, you are an experienced editor. I would just like to echo a message i left on the footy talk page. The whole Giles Barnes debacle is rapidly becoming an edit war. I have cleaned the article up and will keep them in my watchlist. looking at the article history though i think you may have, or will soon, cross the WP:3RR boundary. Being mindful of bugzilla:9213, the anon may not have got the warnings on his talk page. I have left a link in the article history for him to follow if that is the case. Just be careful you don't get yourself blocked over this. As i stated on the WP:FOOTY talk page we only have to wait until midnight and all rumours should stop. If the time period weren't so short i would pu in a request at WP:RFPP. Wishing you well... Woodym55520:02, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

Hey... just to respond to your edit to Sam Sodje, there's no policy that says that {{reflist}} should be used in preference to <div class="references-small"><references /></div>. It's left down to individual editor preference. As such, you shouldn't really be making edits purely to change from one to the other. robwingfield«T•C»20:20, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
