As a student at Technical University of Denmark (DTU) I have never seen the abbriviation TUD used and I would not link it to DTU. The Danish name is Danmarks Tekniske Universitet, but it is by Danish and international exchange/programme students at DTU almost exclusively referred to as DTU and never as TUD. This abbreviation is used extensively within the USGS GNIS Gazetteer, and in other works dealing with the Antarctic. Please do not bring assumptions from other languages into an English Language encyclopedia.
