The final sentence of the section stating they are thought not to drink water appears to be incorrect, as I have a groundhog drinking from my bird-bath every morning. Article states groundhogs not known to drink water, as they may get it from moisture in plants/vegetables. Our neighborhood groundhog does drink from the outdoor cats water bowl, as it eats from the cats bowl of Iams dry cat food. The groundhog has a badly deformed left rear leg, but seems to move quite well. Lives in a borrow under my neighbors side porch.
