Terry's fans have a double standard. They call Canbert shippers fabricated incest (which doesn't exist) and pedophilia (which doesn't exist), but they support a woman beater like Terry, a secondary character whom Candy traded for the true protagonist, the Prince of the Hill (Albert). It would be wise if the administrators focus on actual facts and textual evidence instead of fan-based drama. It is not surprising that Keiko Nagita, the author of "Candy Candy", has refrained from all this nonsense. That being said, neither Terry nor Albert have been confirmed to be "anohito". Albert is Candy's husband, not Terry
In "Candy's Secret Revealed!", an interview for the Keizensha Encyclopedia, Nagita says: "I decided to write a story that wasn't just a magical manga, nor a conventional story about an orphan girl searching for her mother, but the life of a girl who lives looking forward, and in that life I wanted to include three loves. The first is her initial love for Anthony, a fleeting love. A love made only of tenderness with a boy of special transparency. Then there's the youthful and stormy love for Terry, a love from which one must part even while still loving. And finally, I wrote a serene, mature, and predestined love for Albert-san."
Albert is Candy's husband, not Terry. This has been publicly and officially confirmed by the author herself, Keiko Nagita, in statements to the press. Any attempt to spread misinformation is merely an act of vandalism born of pure envy on the part of Terry's fans—nothing more.

The article is inaccurate and based on fanpages. This article needs to be revised and cited with legit sources. To be specific, Keiko Nagita, the author of the "Candy Candy" story (anime, manga and novel variants) has repeatedly and clearly stated that "anohito" (Candy's alleged partner in her mid-30s) is open to interpretation and thus could be Terry or Albert or anyone the reader wants. To Nagita, this so-called "anohito" means nothing to her; instead what matters in her story-the story SHE created and not the fans-is that Candy has found her mental and psychological equilibrium in order to proceed in her life as an independent and empowered woman. From there on, everything else is just "noise". To be honest, I would have preferred an entirely different story but I am not Nagita and I respect her decision because it is HER decision as the LEGIT author of the aforementioned story. As I do not want to go off on a tangent, I will cut straight to the chase and suggest you consult with Keiko Nagita's editorial agents directly. If this is not convenient for you, you could contact the official and legal translators of Nagita's latest novel and NOT the ones some desperate fans are trying to promote via WIKIPEDIA. Keiko Nagita's latest novel, which the original is in Japanese, was published in 2010 and there are significant changes, the most important being Susanna's death and Terry's letter to Candy where he expresses his unchanged affections for her. The author never mentions the identity of "anohito" but she allows a "window of opportunity" for a possible reunion between Terry and Candy. On the other hand, Nagita also offers an equivalent opportunity and interpretation that "anohito" is Albert. Nonetheless, Keiko Nagita has been stating and clarifying ad nauseum (fans continue to obstinately distort her words, both pro-Terry and pro-Albert fans) that "anohito" could be Terry or Albert or anyone the reader wants. Resuming to the credible sources, I would suggest you contact the official editors and translators of Keiko Nagita's novel. So far, her novel has been translated into three languages: Italian (Kappalab), French (PIKA) and Spanish (Arechi). You can find these novels easily online but I will see if I can provide direct links to the aforesaid editorial teams in due time. To reiterate, consult with the editorial teams of Kappalab, PIKA and Arechi. I am sure they will be shocked albeit not surpirsed with the toxicity and false information heavily disseminated within, among and beyond this acutely nonsensically bizarre fandom. If I am not mistaken, the chief editor of Arechi, Mr. Miralles (if I have spelt his name/surname correctly) has direct communication with Keiko Nagita's editorial team in Japan. You may also find him via Facebook where the official Arechi Manga page is continuously updated. Again, I will try to provide direct links but please verify these sources. It is always wise to fact-check and provide indisputable evidence irrespective of personal biases and emotive preferences. Terry fans persist in spreading misinformation
This article covers the entire Candy Candy franchise, not just a specific book. Furthermore, posting links to online bookstores does not constitute a valid source or reference.
Terry didn't even make it to the midpoint of the story, let alone marry Candy. At the end of her catharsis, Candy herself states that Terry was no longer a part of her life.
