The list of familymembers is somewhat confusing. We need a consistent and fairly obvious (to the reader) numbering or listing system so it can be clearly seen who is the son of whom etc. - Matthew238 02:38, 10 January 2006 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2006-01-10T02:38:00.000Z","author":"Matthew238","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Matthew238-2006-01-10T02:38:00.000Z-List","replies":[]}}-->

Why is it assumed that any of these names around the country have anything to do with this particular family. They were NYC real estate speculators not US real estate speculators. That is a tremendous assumption to make that the naming of these town and locales (outside of NYC) had anything to do with this particular family. • I've placed a template at the top of this article listing several issues that need to be rectified. The first, is the obvious lack of any references for any of the material in this article (verily, an issue since Jan 2009). Second, the need for expansion of the article beyond the present content. The first couple sections seem very abridged and then they lead into large -bulleted- lists of the family tree. Hence, I have placed the lists, copyedit, and expand templates on the main page as well.
  • I would recommend that someone overhaul this article and find sources for the content that is present. I would also recommend deleting the lists in the "Bloodline" section or, at least, have it put into a proper embedded list.

Hello,

When looking at the article for Samuel Cutler Ward, it says he was the husband of William Backhouse Astor, Sr.'s daughter Emily Astor. Yet this article says that Samuel Cutler Ward's grandfather Samuel Ward, Jr. was her husband. I am not sure which to go with.

Anglo American of German descent? That doesn't make sense. It should be one or the other.

Definitely not, how much more of a posh Anglo/American (or transatlantic) can you get than having German ancestry. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.39.10.81 (talk) 20:09, 12 May 2010 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2010-05-12T20:09:00.000Z","author":"217.39.10.81","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-217.39.10.81-2010-05-12T20:09:00.000Z-Anglo_American","replies":[]}}-->

The families currently listed in connection to the Astor family are false. The list should read as follows; Aldrich, Webster, Rockefeller, Rothschild, and Romanov.  Not done on the contrary, none of the names you've listed have any discernible connections to the Astors. The ones in infobox come from how members of those families married people from this one. Wait, I forgot about how Margaret Livingston Chanler married Richard Aldrich, but it's moot when the Aldrich family doesn't have or warrant a separate page anyway. We should stick to families with their own articles, meaning the Websters couldn't be listed either. I saw a comment replying to my connected families list name. The current listed on the page are only families that wished we associated with them. We do not. That needs to be fixed. The earliest Astors made their wealth through profiting from the drug trade (ie; heroine). As well as the fur trade. Astoria fort being the first base of the Astor fur trading business for which I am named after. The Astor’s were also landlords. Ones who lacked empathy and cared only to fund their own lavish lives. The lower generations grew greedy and put themselves above others. Not to mention the indentity thefts many suffered from their carelessness and substance indulgences.
