Kim Seon-woo (Korean: 김선우; born June 24, 2003), known mononymously as Sunoo, is a South Korean singer. He is a member of the boy band Enhypen under Belift Lab, formed through the reality survival show I-Land in 2020.[1]

Early life

Sunoo was born on June 24, 2003, in Gwangmyeong, Gyeonggi, South Korea.[2] He graduated from Hanlim Multi Art School in February 2022 alongside fellow Enhypen members Jay and Jungwon.[3]

Career

2020–present: I-Land, debut with Enhypen and solo activities

Sunoo trained at Belift Lab for roughly ten months before appearing as a contestant on the Mnet reality survival series I-Land, which was announced on June 1, 2020.[1] He placed eighth in the show's final public vote but was selected by the producers for the debut lineup.[4]

Sunoo debuted with Enhypen on November 30, 2020, with the extended play Border: Day One.[5] He is credited as a co-writer and composer on the group's tracks "Highway 1009" (2024) and "Voice Note" (2026), including their alternate versions.[6]

In February 2022, Sunoo was named a co-host, alongside fellow member Jungwon, of the EBS radio programme Listen.[7] In January and February 2026, he took on individual guest-hosting roles as a special MC on Mnet's M Countdown and MBC's Show! Music Core respectively.[8][9]

Endorsements

In July 2025, Sunoo was appointed global ambassador for 8seconds, the fast-fashion label of Samsung C&T Fashion Group, fronting the brand's "Summer Record" campaign with a flagship-store appearance in Manila.[10] The Manila appearance drew independent local press coverage, with outlets reporting a crowd of more than 2,000 fans at the store opening.[11][12]

Philanthropy

Since December 2024, Sunoo has made a series of personal donations to the Samsung Medical Center in support of pediatric and adolescent patient care, beginning with ₩100 million to the hospital's Patient Happiness Fund and followed by further ₩50 million contributions in 2025 and again on his birthday in June 2026, bringing his total giving to the hospital to roughly ₩200 million.[13][14] In March 2025, he separately donated ₩30 million to disaster-relief efforts for wildfire victims in the Gyeongsang region.[15]

His giving is widely credited by Korean media with sparking a fan-organized giving trend referred to as the "Sunoo Challenge," in which fans of Enhypen made their own charitable donations in his name.[15][13]

For his donations and volunteer activities, Sunoo received the Minister of Foreign Affairs' Award at the 2025 Korea Social Contribution Awards, held December 23, 2025, at the Korea Press Center in Seoul, an annual programme co-organized by ten South Korean government ministries and public institutions marking its 20th year.[15]
