George was a senior Congress leader born on 25 July 1935, son of Mary and Poulose of the Pulikkal house at Pudukkadu Thrissur district Kerala. A teacher by profession he entered politics through Congress. The veteran Congress leader died on 5 January 2008, aged 72.[3]

He had also been actively engaged in trade union activities since the 1950s.
In 1959–1960 he was the General convenor of Kerala liberation struggle moment in Thrissur district.

A staunch supporter and close aide of leader K. Karunakaran, in 2005 he parted the ways with him, when Karunakaran quit Congress to form a new party D.I.C. (K).[4]
