John Shaft Covington (born April 22, 1972) is an American former professional football safety. He played one season in the National Football League (NFL) for the Indianapolis Colts, who selected him in the fifth round of the 1994 NFL draft.^[2] Covington played college football at Notre Dame.^[3]
