Jagath Wickramaratne (Sinhala: ජගත් වික්‍රමරත්න; Tamil: ஜகத் விக்கிரமரத்ன; born Idampitiyegedara Wanigasuriya Mudiyanselage Jagath Wickramarathne) is a Sri Lankan politician and a member of the National People's Power. He currently serves as 23rd Speaker of the Parliament of Sri Lanka.[1][2][3][4] He was elected to the parliament in the 2024 Sri Lankan parliamentary election representing Polonnaruwa Electoral District.[5][6] He is a doctor and medical administrator by profession.[7]

Early life

Wickramaratne received his education at Gal Amuna Maha Vidyalaya, Polonnaruwa and Dharmaraja College, Kandy.[8]
