Fadi Faisal Elhusseini (Arabic: فادي الحسيني) is a Palestinian politician and writer, who is born in 1975.[1]

Early life

Elhusseini is a political and media expert, Board Member of the Institute for Middle East Studies in Canada.[2][3] He served as the Director of the Bureau of Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs, and previously was the Executive Director of the Palestinian Council on Foreign Relations.[3] In addition, he worked as a lecturer at Al-Azhar University in Gaza.[3] He administrated an office of a project funded by the United States Agency for International Development.[citation needed]

Elhusseini presented television programs on Palestine TV and worked as a columnist for a London-based news agency.[3] He made contributions and wrote articles for a number of Arab and Western newspapers, magazines and journals dealing with issues such as the Palestinian conflict, politics and international relations in the Middle East and the Arab Spring.[3] He contributed with one chapter in a book on Turkish-Canadian relations.[2] Moreover, his articles were published in newspapers in Turkey, Norway, France, the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States, Russia, Belgium, South Africa, Pakistan, Indonesia, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran and Palestine. His works have been published in English, French, Italian and Arabic, and articles and publications have been translated into Turkish, Persian and Russian.[citation needed]

He gave lectures on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and developments in the Middle East, and participated in academic conferences in Poland, the UK, Italy, the US and Canada. Additionally, he speaks a number of foreign languages.[citation needed]

Background and Education

Fadi Faisal Hamdi Abdulrahman Ahmed Mohiuddin Elhusseini was born on 21 October 1975 in Gaza. His father, Faisal Elhusseini, is one a lawyer in Palestine, who was arrested twice by Israeli authorities.[4] And his grandfather, Hamdi Elhusseini, is a Palestinian intellectual.[5]

He earned a bachelor's degree in economics and political science from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science - Cairo University.[2][3] In 2000, he received a master's degree with honors from the University of Salento (formerly called: Università degli Studi di Lecce) in Italy.[3] In October 2012, he began his Ph.D. studies at the University of Sunderland, the UK.[2][3] His thesis deals with the role of Turkey in the Arab world in the aftermath of the so-called Arab Spring.[2] He received his Ph.D. in international relatiosK.[2] He also earned his master's degree in international trade law and policy in Italy.[2][3]
