Ken Hor (also known as Hor Fook Ken, 何福权), is a Malaysian film composer and music producer. Hor has composed musical scores for several Malaysian feature films. These include Abang Long Fadil, KL Special Force, and La Luna.[1] He received two nominations for Best Original Music. One came from the 32nd Malaysia Film Festival for the film Juang.[2] Another came from the 34th Malaysia Film Festival for Takluk: Lahad Datu (English: Conquer: Lahad Datu).[3]

Education

Hor graduated with a music degree. He later studied film scoring at the University of California, Los Angeles in 2004.[1]

Career

Hor established the contemporary-ethnic music ensemble, Inner Voices. In 2009, the group presented Let's Go Mamak!. It won four awards at the 7th Annual BOH Cameronian Arts Awards. These included Best Original Composition and Best Musical Direction.[4] In 2012, Hor served as the producer and arranger for the independent album Platform 11 (十一號月台). The album received a nomination for Best Indie Album at the 2015 PWH Music Awards.[5] He was the music director and co-producer for the Z Yan album Romancing Asia (唱遊亞洲).[1] The album won Best Album in the Local Original Classic category at the 2020 AIM Chinese Music Awards.[6]

Since 2013, Hor has expanded his work into film scoring.[1]
