Won Ha-neul (Korean: 원하늘; born May 25, 2005), known mononymously as Haneul (Korean: 하늘), is a South Korean singer and songwriter. She is a member of the South Korean girl group Kiss of Life under S2 Entertainment.[1][2]
Early life
Haneul was born on May 25, 2005, in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea.[2] She attended Jidong Elementary School, Woncheon Middle School, and Suwon Girls’ High School, which she dropped out of before passing the High School Graduation Qualification Examination.[3][4]
Career
2022: Pre-debut
In December 2022, Haneul appeared alongside her future bandmates in a British documentary about K-pop trainees. It was alleged that they were to be a part of an upcoming girl group of S2 Entertainment.[5]
2023–present: Debut with Kiss of Life and solo activities
On May 18, 2023, S2 Entertainment revealed her as the fourth and final member of the upcoming girl group Kiss of Life.[2] The group debuted on July 5, 2023, with their self-titled EP.[6] Prior to the group debut, each member released an individual solo single and music video. Haneul's solo track, "Play Love Games", was released on June 21, 2023.[7][8][9]
She also participated in composing the melody for the B-side "Bye My Neverland".[10]
In August 2024, she made her first solo feature appearance on the track "I Do Care" by GK.[11]
Artistry
Haneul has been praised for her stable live vocals, clear tone, and emotional delivery.[12][13] In interviews, she has credited her bandmates for helping her grow as an artist, noting her transformation from a soft-spoken trainee to a confident performer.[12][13]
