Buy King (Korean: 바이킹) is an upcoming South Korean television series written by Shinho Lee and directed by Jo Sung-hee. Starring Ju Ji-hoon and Lee Jun-ho, the series explores Korean chaebol family dynamics, depicting complex relationships and power struggles for control of a multi-billion dollar empire. It is scheduled for release on Netflix.

Synopsis

Cast and characters

  • Ju Ji-hoon as Han Tae-jun, a ruthless and ambitious man in pursuit of success and power, he is Ji-yeol's uncle.[1]
  • Lee Jun-ho as Han Ji-yeol, a risk analysis expert and cold strategist, he is a chaebol heir who becomes embroiled in a rivalry with his uncle, Tae-jun.[2]
  • Choi Dae-hoon as Michael, a former bodyguard turned chief of staff. He serves as secretary to the Chairman of BK Holdings and is a key figure in protecting Han Ji-yeol.[3]

Production

Development

The screenplay is written by writer Shinho Lee, and directed by Jo Sung-hee, who helmed the box office hit A Werewolf Boy (2012). The series was reported to have 10 episodes. It was set for release on global OTT platforms.[2][1]

Casting

Ju Ji-hoon and Lee Jun-ho were reportedly cast in March 2026 as rival leads.[1][2] Four months later, Choi Dae-hoon joined the cast.[3]

Filming

Principal photography began in April 2026.[2]

Release

The series is scheduled for release on Netflix.[4]
