Cléopatre Darleux (French pronunciation: [kleɔpatʁ daʁlø] ; born 1 July 1989) is a French handball goalkeeper for Metz Handball and the French national team .[ 1] [ 2]
She won the gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics , the first Olympic title in the history of France's national team. She also competed in the 2012 Summer Olympics , where France finished in fifth place.[ 3]
Darleux also became World Champion in 2017 [ 4] and won three silver medals, at the 2009 , 2011 and 2021 World Women's Handball Championships. Runner-up at the 2020 European Championship , she was awarded Best Goalkeeper at the 2022 edition .[ 5]
