Northampton Town 2021–22 football season
The 2021–22 season was Northampton Town 's 125th season in their history and the first season back in League Two after relegation the previous year. Alongside competing in League Two, the club also participated in the FA Cup , EFL Cup and EFL Trophy . The season covered the period from 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2022.

Pre-season
The Cobblers announced their first pre-season friendly against Birmingham City , as part of the club's open day.[ 1] This was soon followed by a match against West Ham United .[ 2] The club announced a number of local games on May 28.[ 3] A seventh friendly against Cambridge United was announced on 8 June.[ 4] Nottingham Forest was then confirmed on 28 June.[ 5]
