The 1940 Saint Louis Billikens football team was an American football team that represented Saint Louis University as a member of the Missouri Valley Conference during the 1940 college football season . In its first season under head coach Dukes Duford , the team compiled an overall record of 3–6–1 record with a mark of 2–3 in conference play, placing fifth in the MVC, and was outscored by a total of 113 to 88.[ 1]
Saint Louis was ranked at No. 117 (out of 697 college football teams) in the final rankings under the Litkenhous Difference by Score system for 1940.[ 2]
The team played home games at Walsh Stadium in St. Louis .
