The 93rd Massachusetts General Court , consisting of the Massachusetts Senate and the Massachusetts House of Representatives , met in 1872 during the governorship of Republican William B. Washburn .[ 5] Horace H. Coolidge served as president of the Senate and John E. Sanford served as speaker of the House.[ 6] [ 7]
