Η Σοτ Ες Σεργκί (αραβικά: شط الشرقي‎‎) είναι μεγάλη ενδορεϊκή αλμυρή λίμνη στην επαρχία Σαϊντά, της βορειοδυτικής Αλγερίας.[1] Βρίσκεται στην περιοχή των Ωτ Πλαιν μεταξύ του Άτλαντα Τελλ και του Σαχαριανού Άτλαντα και είναι μια από τις μεγαλύτερες λίμνες στην Αλγερία.

Οικολογία

Η Σοτ Ες Σεργκί έχει έκταση περίπου 2.000 χλμ² όπου το νερό συλλέγεται κατά τη διάρκεια της υγρής περιόδου, σχηματίζοντας μια σειρά από μεγάλες ρηχές αλμυρές λίμνες που γίνονται αλυκές καθώς αποξηραίνονται. Η περιοχή της λίμνης έχει μήκος περίπου 160 χλμ. από ανατολικά-βορειοανατολικά προς δυτικά-νοτιοδυτικά και βρίσκεται σε μέσο υψόμετρο 1.000 μ.[2]

Η Σοτ Ες Εργκί έχει χαρακτηριστεί υγροβιότοπος Ramsar διεθνούς σημασίας. Η προστατευόμενη περιοχή έχει έκταση 8.555 χλμ² και αποτελεί το φυσικό περιβάλλον για ορισμένα απειλούμενα και ευάλωτα είδη ζώων και φυτών.[3]
