Η Τζινάν (κινεζικά: 济南, προφέρεται: [tɕì.nǎn]) είναι πρωτεύουσα της επαρχίας Σαντόνγκ στην ανατολική Λαϊκή Δημοκρατία της Κίνας. Σύμφωνα με την απογραφή του 2010, έχει πληθυσμό 6.813.800 κατοίκους, ενώ ο αστικός πληθυσμός είναι 4.335.900. Το όνομά της σημαίνει νότια του Τζι και αναφέρεται στον ποταμό Τζι, ο οποίος υπήρχε μέχρι τα μέσα του 19ου αιώνα, όταν ο Κίτρινος Ποταμός άλλαξε ρου και κατέλαβε την κοίτη του. Βρίσκεται ανάμεσα στο όρος Τάι και την κοίτη του Κίτρινου ποταμού. Είναι γνωστή επίσης ως η πόλη των πηγών, λόγω των πολλών αρτεσιανών πηγών, μεταξύ των οποίων και η πηγή Μπαότου, οι οποίες καταλήγουν τη λίμνη Νταμίνγκ.

Κατά την αρχαιότητα, η Τζινάν ήταν μοιρασμένη ανάμεσα στο βασίλειο Τσι και Τσου. Το βασίλειο Τσι έφτιαξε το μεγάλο τείχος του Τσι για να αμυνθεί έναντι στο βασίλειο Τσου. Το τείχος ξεκινούσε από την Τζινάν και έφτανε μέχρι το Τσινγκτάο. Το σημερινό της όνομα το πήρε κατά την περίοδο της Δυναστείας Χαν, όταν δημιουργήθηκε το ιερό Τζινάν. Περίπου το 500 μ.Χ. στην περιοχή εισήχθη ο Βουδισμός και έτσι κατασκευάστηκαν πολλοί βουδιστικοί ναοί. Το βουνό με τους Χίλιους Βούδες, κοντά στην πόλη, δημιουργήθηκε αυτή την περίοδο. Μετά την κατάκτηση της Κίνας από του Μογγόλους έγινε πρωτεύουσα της επαρχίας Σαντόνγκ. Η κατασκευή του σιδηροδρόμου Τζινάν-Τσινγκτάο το 1904 κατέστησε την πόλη σημαντικό επικοινωνιακό κόμβο.^[2]
