Ο επιφανής του Γένους Δάσκαλος Ιωάννης Δημητριάδης-Πέζαρος έδρασε στον Τύρναβο το 18ο αιώνα. Αρχικά εκπαιδεύτηκε στη σχολή που άκμαζε στην πατρίδα του, κατόπιν στα Γιάννινα και στη συνέχεια στο Άγιο Όρος, όπου και παρακολούθησε μαθήματα της νεότερης φιλοσοφίας. Από εκεί πήγε και δίδαξε, έπειτα από σχετική πρόσκληση, στην Τσαριτσάνη και το 1776 στο Λιβάδι.

Μετά δίδαξε στην περιώνυμη Σχολή του Τυρνάβου κατά την περίοδο από το 1782 μέχρι 1806. Στον Τύρναβο ο Πέζαρος χειροτονήθηκε ιερέας το 1790 και τιμήθηκε με το εκκλησιαστικό οφφίκιο του οικονόμου. Μαθητές του υπήρξαν διαπρεπείς λόγιοι, μεταξύ των οποίων και ο Κωνσταντίνος Κούμας. Στον Τύρναβο διατηρούσε κοινόβιο για ξένους και φτωχούς μαθητές. Με λιτότητα και οικονομία, χωρίς να λείπουν τα αναγκαία, συζούσαν πάντα δέκα μέχρι δεκαπέντε ξένοι μαθητές. Από το πρωί μέχρι το βράδυ δίδασκε σ' όλες τις τάξεις, που πολλές φορές ανέρχονταν σε επτά. Εξαίρετος ήταν ο χαρακτήρας του, καθώς και ο τρόπος διδασκαλίας του. Η προσωπικότητα του σχολάρχη του Τυρνάβου εκθειάζεται και από πολλούς αξιόλογους λογίους σε επιστολές τους, στις οποίες επισημαίνεται το μέγεθος της ακτινοβολίας του μεγάλου τυρναβίτη δασκάλου.
