Ο Αρ (γερμανικά: Αhr) είναι ποταμός της Γερμανίας, αριστερός παραπόταμος του Ρήνου. Οι πηγές του βρίσκονται σε υψόμετρο 470 μέτρων στην οροσειρά του Άιφελ, κοντά στην πόλη Μπλάνκενχαϊμ. Μετά από 18 χιλιόμετρα διαδρομής στην Βόρεια Ρηνανία-Βεστφαλία εισέρχεται στο κρατίδιο της Ρηνανίας-Παλατινάτου.

Ο Αρ ρέει μέσω της ομώνυμης κοιλάδας διαρρέοντας κατά τη διαδρομή του τις πόλεις Σουλντ, Άλτεναρ και Μπαντ Νόιεναρ-Άρβαϊλερ. Ανάμεσα στις πόλεις Ρέμαγκεν και Σίντσιγκ και σε υψόμετρο 53 μέτρων εκβάλλει στον Ρήνο. Το μήκος του ποταμού είναι περίπου 89 χιλιόμετρα, εκ των οποίων τα 68 στη Ρηνανία-Παλατινάτο. Η λεκάνη απορροής του ανέρχεται σε 900 τετραγωνικά χιλιόμετρα και η μέση παροχή νερού του κοντά στις εκβολές του σε 8,9 κυβικά μέτρα ανά δευτερόλεπτο.

Υπήρχαν μεμονωμένοι οικισμοί στην κοιλάδα του Αρ τουλάχιστον από τη Ρωμαϊκή εποχή. Εξαιτίας της παλαιότερα κακής προσβασιμότητας, οι περιοχές του άνω και μεσαίου ρου του ποταμού ήταν αραιοκατοικημένες. Η κατάσταση αυτή άλλαξε από τα μέσα του 19ου αιώνα. Η ανάπτυξη των υφιστάμενων οικισμών, των οδικών και σιδηροδρομικών αρτηριών και των καλλιεργήσιμων εκτάσεων της κοιλάδας του Αρ οδήγησαν στο γεγονός η κοίτη να γίνει ολοένα και στενότερη, ώστε απαιτήθηκε σε κάποια σημεία ο ρους να ευθειαστεί, η κοίτη του ποταμού να στερεοποιηθεί και να κατασκευαστούν φράγματα για τον έλεγχο της δύναμης ροής του ποταμού, ώστε να αποφεύγονται διαβρώσεις.

Η κοιλάδα του Αρ είναι περιοχή οινοπαραγωγική και αποτελεί τον μεγαλύτερο κλειστό (αυτόνομο) αμπελώνα ερυθρού οίνου της Γερμανίας και συνάμα έναν τουριστικό πόλο έλξης.
