Η Αγνή Μπάλτσα (19 Νοεμβρίου 1944, Λευκάδα), ευρύτερα γνωστή και ως Agnes Baltsa, είναι Ελληνίδα μέτζο-σοπράνο και ηθοποιός.

Βιογραφία

Ξεκίνησε να παίζει πιάνο σε ηλικία έξι ετών και το 1958 μετακόμισε στην Αθήνα για να επικεντρωθεί στο τραγούδι. Αποφοίτησε από το Εθνικό Ωδείο το 1965 και ταξίδεψε στο Μόναχο προκειμένου να συνεχίσει τις σπουδές της με υποτροφία Μαρία Κάλλας.

Η Μπάλτσα έκανε την πρώτη της εμφάνιση το 1968 στην Όπερα της Φρανκφούρτης με το έργο Οι Γάμοι του Φίγκαρο (του Βόλφγκανγκ Αμαντέους Μότσαρτ) και ακολούθησε το έργο Ο ιππότης με το ρόδο (Der Rosenkavalier) του Ρίχαρντ Στράους στην Όπερα της Βιέννης το 1970. Με την καθοδήγηση του Χέρμπερτ φον Κάραγιαν, ο οποίος είχε πει για αυτήν ότι ήταν «η σπουδαιότερη δραματική μεσόφωνος της εποχής μας»,[1] γρήγορα τράβηξε την προσοχή του κόσμου πάνω της και άρχισε να κάνει τακτικές εμφανίσεις στο αναγνωρισμένου κύρους Φεστιβάλ του Σάλτσμπουργκ (Salzburger Festspiele).

Η πιο γνωστή της ερμηνεία είναι στην Κάρμεν του Ζωρζ Μπιζέ, την οποία έχει επαναλάβει πολλές φορές, τις περισσότερες με τη συνοδεία του Χοσέ Καρρέρας. Έχει ερμηνεύσει έργα των Μότσαρτ (Οι γάμοι του Φίγκαρο, Έτσι κάνουν όλες), Ροσίνι (Ο Κουρέας της Σεβίλλης, Η Ιταλίδα στο Αλγέρι), Μασκάνι (Καβαλερία Ρουστικάνα), Βέρντι (Αΐντα, Η δύναμη του πεπρωμένου, Τροβατόρε, Δον Κάρλος) και Μπελίνι (Καπουλέτοι και Μοντέκκοι), Ρ. Στράους (Ηλέκτρα).

Έχει επίσης παίξει στη Γερμανική ταινία Duett το 1992, υποδυόμενη μια τραγουδίστρια της όπερας.
