Sahika Inal
Sahika Inal, auch Şahika İnal (* 1985), ist eine türkische Bioingenieurin. Sie ist Alexander-von-Humboldt-Professorin an der TU Dresden und dem Leibniz-Institut für Polymerforschung Dresden. Zuvor war sie Professorin und Leiterin des Labors für organische Bioelektronik an der König-Abdullah-Universität für Wissenschaft und Technologie. Ihr Forschungsinteresse gilt dem Einsatz organischer elektronischer Materialien zur Gesundheitsüberwachung sowie der Entwicklung biokompatibler Geräte, die mit dem menschlichen Körper interagieren können.
Leben
Inal studierte Textiltechnik an der Technischen Universität Istanbul und erwarb 2007 ein Bachelor of Science. Für ihre Masterarbeit wechselte sie an die Freie Universität Berlin und konzentrierte sich auf die Polymerwissenschaft.[1] In ihrer Masterarbeit (2009) befasste sie sich mit optischen Prozessen in organischen Solarzellen.[2] Inal wechselte an die Universität Potsdam für ihre Doktorarbeit in Experimentalphysik (2013), wo sie responsive Polymere für optische Sensoren untersuchte.[3][2] Nach ihrer Promotion ging sie als Postdoc nach Frankreich an die École nationale supérieure des mines de Saint-Étienne.[4][5]
Im Jahr 2016 ging Inal an die König-Abdullah-Universität für Wissenschaft und Technologie in Saudi-Arabien, wo sie die Leitung des Labors für organische Bioelektronik übernahm.[4] Im Jahr 2021 wurde sie zur außerordentlichen Professorin berufen.[2] Sie beschäftigt sich mit organischen elektronischen Materialien für die Bioelektronik[6] sowie mit der Entwicklung spektroskopischer und struktureller Sonden zur Überwachung der Bewegung von Elektronen und Ionen.[1]
Inal arbeitet an der Schnittstelle zwischen von Materialwissenschaften, Elektronik und Biologie, um bioelektronische Materialien und Geräte für die Gesundheitsüberwachung und -intervention in Echtzeit zu entwickeln. Sie hat zum Beispiel optische Geräte zur Diagnostik von Krankheitserregern, leitfähige Polymergerüste für die Zellkultur, organische elektrochemische Transistoren (OECTs) und elektrophoretische Geräte zur gezielten Wirkstoffabgabe entwickelt.[4][7]
Am 12. Mai 2026 wurde ihr eine Alexander-von-Humboldt-Professur verliehen.[8]
