NGC 4274 ist eine Balken-Spiralgalaxie mit aktivem Galaxienkern vom Hubble-Typ SBab im Sternbild Haar der Berenike am Nordsternhimmel. Sie ist schätzungsweise 41 Millionen Lichtjahre von der Milchstraße entfernt und hat einen Durchmesser von etwa 85.000 Lichtjahren. Sie ist die hellste Galaxie der NGC 4274-Gruppe (LGG 279) und gilt als Mitglied des Coma-Galaxienhaufens.
Im selben Himmelsareal befinden sich u. a. die Galaxien NGC 4278, NGC 4283, NGC 4286, IC 779.

Die Typ-IIP-Supernova SN 1999ev wurde hier beobachtet.[5]

Das Objekt wurde am wurde am 13. März 1785 vom deutsch-britischen Astronomen William Herschel entdeckt.[6]
