Von Juli 2000 bis 2019 war er Professor an der FHDW Hannover, an der er neben der Forschung insbesondere Vorlesungen zu Software-Entwicklung und -Architektur mit Schwerpunkt auf Objektorientierung abhielt. Bis 2018 war er dort außerdem auch Abteilungsleiter Informatik.
