Iñaki Peciña Tomé (* 31. Mai 1988 in Irún) ist ein spanischer Handballspieler. Der 2,00 m große Kreisläufer spielt seit 2022 für den französischen Erstligisten Chambéry Savoie HB und steht zudem im Aufgebot der spanischen Nationalmannschaft.

Karriere

Verein

Iñaki Peciña lernte das Handballspielen in seiner Heimatstadt bei Bidasoa Irún. Dort gab er auch sein Debüt in der zweiten spanischen Liga, der División de Honor Plata de Balonmano. In der Saison 2010/11 lief er für BM Torrevieja in der ersten spanischen Liga, der Liga ASOBAL, auf. Die folgende Spielzeit verbrachte er beim SDC San Antonio, der im Sommer 2012 in finanzielle Schwierigkeiten geriet. Daraufhin verließ Peciña San Antonio und wechselte zu BM Valladolid, der im Sommer 2014 ebenfalls Finanzprobleme aufwies. In der Folge spielte der Kreisläufer je eine Saison für BM Guadalajara, BM Villa de Aranda und CB Ciudad de Logroño. Ab der Spielzeit 2017/18 lief er für Pays d’Aix UC in der französischen Starligue auf. Zur Saison 2022/23 wechselte er für drei Jahre zum Ligakonkurrenten Chambéry Savoie HB.[2]

Nationalmannschaft

In der spanischen A-Nationalmannschaft debütierte Iñaki Peciña am 13. Juni 2016 gegen Polen.[1] Bei den Mittelmeerspielen 2018 gewann er mit Spanien die Bronzemedaille.[3] Bei der Europameisterschaft 2022 gewann er mit den Iberern die Silbermedaille, dabei blieb er in neun Einsätzen ohne Tor.[1] Bisher bestritt er 54 Länderspiele, in denen er 26 Tore erzielte.[1] An einer Weltmeisterschaft nahm er erstmals im Januar 2023 in Polen und Schweden teil.[4] Mit der spanischen Auswahl zur Weltmeisterschaft 2023 gewann er die Bronzemedaille.
