Hoofdklasse (Schach) 1980/81

In der Hoofdklasse 1980/81 wurde die 58. niederländische Mannschaftsmeisterschaft im Schach ausgespielt.

Der Titelverteidiger Volmac Rotterdam und Desisco/Watergraafsmeer lieferten sich ein Kopf-an-Kopf-Rennen um den Titel. Zwar gewann Rotterdam den direkten Vergleich, aber da sie zwei Unentschieden abgaben, während Desisco/WGM alle übrigen Wettkämpfe gewann, entschieden die Brettpunkte über die Titelvergabe, und hier behielten die Amsterdamer die Oberhand. Aus der Klasse 1 waren CVI/Utrecht und die Leidsch Schaakgenootschap aufgestiegen. Während Utrecht den Klassenerhalt erreichte, musste Leiden zusammen mit dem Vorjahreszweiten Eindhovense SV direkt wieder absteigen.

Die Wettkämpfe wurden ausgetragen am 20. September, 11. Oktober, 1. November, 6. Dezember 1980, 10. Januar, 7. Februar, 7. März, 4. April und 2. Mai 1981.
