Gerald Shaughnessy
Gerald Shaughnessy SM (* 19. Mai 1887 in Everett, Massachusetts; † 18. Mai 1950 in Seattle, Washington) war ein US-amerikanischer Ordensgeistlicher und römisch-katholischer Bischof von Seattle.
Leben
Gerald Shaughnessy trat der Ordensgemeinschaft der Maristenpatres bei und empfing am 20. Juni 1920 in Washington, D.C. durch den Apostolischen Delegaten in den USA, Erzbischof Giovanni Bonzano, das Sakrament der Priesterweihe.
Am 1. Juli 1933 wurde er zum Bischof von Seattle ernannt. Die Bischofsweihe spendete ihm am 19. September desselben Jahres in Washington, D.C. der Apostolische Delegat in den USA, Erzbischof Amleto Giovanni Cicognani; Mitkonsekratoren waren der Bischof von Savannah, Michael Joseph Keyes, und der Bischof von Spokane, Charles Daniel White.
