Chamaguha ist ein Verwaltungsbezirk (englisch Ward) des Distrikts Shinyanga (MC) in der tansanischen Region Shinyanga.

Geografie

Chamaguha ist ein städtischer Bezirk im Nordwesten von Tansania. Er liegt östlich des Zentrums der Regionshauptstadt Shinyanga.[2] Bei der Volkszählung 2022 lebten 4082 Menschen in 1166 Haushalten[3] auf einer Fläche von vier Quadratkilometern.[4]

Der Bezirk grenzt an fünf Bezirke des Distrikts Shinyanga (MC),[5]

Gliederung

Der Bezirk besteht aus drei Stadtteilen (swahili Mtaa):[6]

  • Tanesco
  • Chamaguha
  • Sanjo

Infrastruktur

  • Bildung: Im Bezirk gibt es eine weiterführende Schule.[7] Die Chamaguha Secondary School ist eine staatliche Schule, die Jugendliche bis zur 4. Stufe ausbildet.[8]
  • Gesundheitseinrichtungen: In Chamaguha liegt eine öffentliche Apotheke.[9]
  • Gebäude: Von den 975 Gebäuden im Bezirk haben 564 einen Stromanschluss von Tanesco, 60 beziehen Strom aus anderen Quellen wie Solarzellen und Generatoren. 601 Gebäude besitzen einen Wasseranschluss (Stand 2022).[10]
  • Bahnhof: Das Zentrum von Shinyanga lag ursprünglich weiter im Norden in Old Shinyanga. Mit der Eröffnung der Eisenbahnlinie von Tabora nach Mwanza wurde der Bahnhof in Chamaguha errichtet und westlich davon wuchs das neue Stadtzentrum.[11][2]
