Acid Green 16 ist eine chemische Verbindung aus der Gruppe der Triarylmethinfarbstoffe.

Gewinnung und Darstellung

Acid Green 16 kann durch Kondensation von 4,4'-Bis(diethylamino)benzhydrol mit 2,7-Naphthalindisulfonsäure und Oxidation der Leukoverbindung hergestellt werden.[3]

Eigenschaften

Acid Green 16 ist ein dunkelgrüner[1] oder roter bis purpurroter, kristalliner Feststoff.[2] In Wasser gelöst ergibt er eine grünlich-blaue Lösung, in Ethanol eine grüne Lösung.[4]

Verwendung

Acid Green 16 wird als Farbstoff vor allem in der Textilindustrie verwendet, insbesondere zum Färben von Wolle und Seide.[4] Es wird auch als Redoxindikator eingesetzt.[1]

Sicherheitshinweise

Acid Green 16 verursacht Chromosomenschäden (Mikronuklei) bei Mäusen. Die Behandlung erfolgte durch eine einmalige intraperitoneale Injektion von 90 mg/kg Körpergewicht.[5][6]

Regulierung

Acid Green 16 ist in der Europäischen Union über Anhang XVII (Eintrag 75) der REACH-Verordnung auf 0,1 Gewichtsprozent (1000 mg/kg) in Tätowierfarben und Permanent Make-up geregelt.[7]
