Ysgol gynradd gymunedol cyfrwng Cymraeg ym Mhorth Tywyn, Sir Gaerfyrddin, ydy Ysgol Gymraeg Parc y Tywyn, sy'n darparu addysg ar gyfer plant rhwng 3½ ac 11 oed. Mae'r ysgol yn nhalgylch Ysgol Gyfun y Strade.

Hanes

Sefydlwyd Ysgol Gymraeg Parc y Tywyn ar 4 Hydref 1965. Cynhaliwyd y gwersi yn neuadd goffa'r dref.[1] Symudodd i'w safle presennol ar Heol Elfed ym 1972. Tyfodd yr ysgol yn fuan a bu rhaid codi nifer o gabanau erbyn 1978, sydd dal mewn defnydd hyd 2012.[2] Roedd 49 o ddisgyblion ar agoriad yr ysgol,[3] a thua 90 erbyn 1995. Roedd hyn wedi dyblu i 184 erbyn 2006,[4] ac ym mis Ionawr 2012, roedd 247 o ddisgyblion yn yr ysgol.[5] Arwyddodd dros 1,500 o drigolion Porth Tywyn ddeiseb yn galw am adeiladau newydd.[6]
