William Herschel, nacíu Friedrich Wilhelm Herschel (15 de payares de 1738, Hannover – 25 d'agostu de 1822, Slough), astrónomu alemán, descubridor del planeta Uranu y d'otros numerosos oxetos celestes, y pá del tamién astrónomu John Herschel.

Importantes descubrimientos

En 1783 Herschel descubrió que'l Sol nun taba quietu como siempre se creyó: comparando les observaciones de distintes estrelles relativamente "fixes", demostró que la nuesa muévese, arrastrando a la Tierra y al restu de planetes, hacia la estrella Lambda Herculis. Tamién bautizó a esi movimientu como "ápiz solar".

Cuatro años dempués, descubrió a Titania y Oberón, dos llunes d'Uranu.
