Baskortostán (en rusu: Республика Башкортостан; en baskir: Башкортостан Республикаһы ) ye una de les ventiún repúbliques que, xunto colos cuarenta y siete óblast, nueve krais, cuatro distritos autónomos y dos ciudaes federales, conformen los ochenta y tres suxetos federales de Rusia. La so capital ye Ufá. Ta allugada nel distritu Volga llindando al norte con Perm y Sverdlovsk, al este con Cheliábinsk, al sur y suroeste con Oremburgu, al oeste con Tatarstan y al noroeste col ríu Kama que la dixebra d'Udmurtia. En 2011 cuntaba con 4 072 292 habitantes en 143 600 km².

Baskortostán contién una parte de los monte Urales meridionales y les llanures axacentes; la máxima altitú atopar nel monte Iamantau (1.638 m).
