Referendu pa la independencia de Xeorxa de 1991

El Referendu pa la Independencia llevar a cabu na república de Xeorxa el 31 de marzu de 1991, siendo inda de iure parte de la Xunión Soviética.

Referendu pal Nuevu Tratáu de la Unión

El 17 de marzu de 1991 foi convocáu un referendu p'aprobar la continuación d'una federación y llevar a cabu les negociaciones pa la un Nuevu Tratáu de la Unión. El referendu foi boicotiáu per Xeorxa, pero les meses eleutorales abrir n'Abkhasia y Osetia del Sur, onde los votantes escoyeron permanecer na nueva unión.[1]

Referendu pa la independencia de Xeorxa

El referendu foi aprobáu pol Sóviet Supremu de la República Socialista Soviética de Xeorxa, que fuera escoyíu na primera elecció multipartidista d'ochobre de 1990, na que ganó'l bloque independentista Tabla Redonda - Xeorxa Llibre, dirixíu pol disidente soviéticu Zviad Gamsajurdia.

El Sóviet Supremu de la RSS de Xeorxa aprobó en sesión de 14 de payares de 1990 el cambéu de denominación de la república, abandonando'l de "soviética y socialista".[2]

Xeorxa convertir na cuarta República Socialista Soviética que realizó un referendu pa dixebrase de la XRSS dempués de los trés estaos bálticos, Lituania el 9 de febreru, Letonia y Estonia el 3 de marzu de 1991.[3]

La única entruga del referendu foi: "¿Sofita la restauración de la independencia de Xeorxa acordies con el Acta de Declaración de la Independencia de Xeorxa de 26 de mayu de 1918?." Les resultancies oficiales señalaron un 99% de votos a favor, con una concurrencia del 90.5%.[4][5]

Por cuenta de la creciente discordia étnica, los comisios fueron mayormente boicotiaos pola población non-xeorxana d'Abkhasia y Osetia del Sur.[5][3]

Declaración d'independencia

Cuatro díes dempués de remataes les votaciones, foi anunciáu pol Conseyu Supremu de Xeorxa que s'aprobó unánimemente la declaración d'independencia'l 9 d'abril de 1991, nel segundu aniversariu de la represión de les protestes en Tblisi per parte del exércitu soviéticu, conocíes como Traxedia del 9 d'abril.[6][7]

El referendu coincidió con una visita privada del ex-presidente de los Estaos Xuníos, Richard Nixon, que visitó les meses eleutorales na capital de Xeorxa, Tblisi, antes de partir a otru día para Moscú.[8]
