Maria Antònia Canals i Tolosa (15 de payares de 1930, Barcelona – 29 d'abril de 2022, Girona) foi una matemática española que desenvolvió la matemática recreativa y el so campu lúdicu, que sirvieron de base al "Proyeutu Canals".[5] Foi condecorada cola Creu de Sant Jordi (2006) y la Medaya d'Honor de la Ciutat de Barcelona (2009).

Biografía

Concluyó los sos estudios de maxisteriu en 1950 y trés años dempués la llicenciatura de ciencies exactes na Universidá de Barcelona. Empecipió'l so trabayu nel Llicéu Francés y na Escola Talitha onde punxo en práutica, ente 1956 y 1962, un métodu de renovación pedagóxica na educación infantil, siguiendo'l métodu Montessori.[6] Como parte d'esa xera dedicar a la construcción de tol material necesario nel campu de los xuegos matemáticos’.

N'ochobre de 1962 fundó la escuela "Ton i Guida", trabayando nuna zona de Barcelona, con una necesidá de mayor compromisu, con alumnos inmigrantes y con bien males condiciones de vida. La escuela pasó momentos difíciles, sobremanera pa financiase, pero ente 1972 y 1975 cuntó con más de 400 alumnos y considerábase modelu d'escuela. Tamién foi creadora y parte de diversos grupos de maestros y profesores, por casu el grupu de docentes «Perímetre».

Dende'l 30 de setiembre de 2001 ta xubilada pero sigue cola so xera docente. Foi nomada profesora emérita de la Universidá de Girona, onde tuvo activa hasta la so muerte n'abril de 2022.[7]

Ye un proyeutu de la REDE Descartes. Nesti proyeutu inténtase "digitalizar" la gran cantidá de material manipulativo que María Antònia Canals creó y sigue creando. Ponse énfasis nel usu de los Tics y como incuir nella los materiales didácticos.
