Keri-Lynn Wilson (17 de mayu de 1967, Winnipeg) ye una flautera y direutora d'orquesta canadiense.[3] A la fecha d'esti artículu, ye direutora musical de la Orquesta Filarmónica de Eslovenia.[4]

Biografía

Keri-Lynn Wilson ye fía de Lynn Sharples y Carlisle Wilson, violinista y direutor.[5] Empezó los sos estudios de pianu cola so güela, Thelma Wilson, y los de cantar col so güelu, J. Kerr Wilson. Aprendió'l violín col so padre, Carlisle Wilson.[3]

Nel 2003, casóse con Peter Gelb, actual direutor xeneral del Metropolitan Opera House y tamién exdireutor de Sony Classical.[5]

Carrera artística

Empezó como intérprete nel club musical infantil de Winnipeg y más tarde llogró beques del club musical de muyeres y de la Wednesday Morning Musicale. Estudió flauta tresversal con Julius Baker, na Escuela Juilliard, onde llogró'l so grau y posgráu. A principios de la so carrera interpretó como flauteru solista cola Orquesta Filarmónica de Calgary, la Orquesta Sinfónica de Winnipeg y la Orquesta de Cámara de Manitoba.[3]

En 1989, ganó la competencia Artistes Internacionales, lo que la llevó a dar un recital na Sala Weill Recital del Carnegie Hall a los 21 años.[4] Sicasí, como ella señala, nun se sentía cómoda siendo una intérprete, polo que pasó de la flauta, el violín y el pianu a tomar la orquesta entera.[6]

Direición d'orquesta

En 1990 empezó a estudiar direición d'orquesta so la supervisión d'Otto-Werner Mueller y trabayó con grupos de música contemporánea como Musique Mobile and Continuum y la Orquesta Sinfónica Xúpiter. Tamién estudió composición con Kurt Masur, James DePriest y Leonard Slatkin. Recibió la beca Bruno Walter.[3] Consolidóse como una de les representantes del xéneru femenín na direición d'ópera.[7]

Na temporada 2013-2014 dirixó Un baille de mázcares, de Giuseppe Verdi, en Estocolmu, cola Ópera Real d'Estocolmu, según Madama Butterfly, de Giacomo Puccini, nel so debú col Nuevu Teatru Nacional en Tokiu, y al so regresu cola Ópera Estatal de Baviera, en Múnich.[6]

El so debú nel Teatru d'ópera de Zúrich foi na temporada 2012-2013, dirixendo Lady Macbeth de Mtsensk y La traviata. Coles mesmes, dirixó L'holandés errante, na Ópera de Montreal;[8] La traviata, en Bilbao; Eugenio Onegin, en Varsovia; Nabucco, en La Coruña, y el so debú nel Festival de Música Schleswig-Holstein cola Orquesta Sinfónica de la Radio del Norte d'Alemaña, interpretando Turandot. Tamién debutó como direutora en Salerno con La traviata; en Bari, con Otello, y en Tel Aviv, con Boris Godunov.[6]

Foi la primer muyer direutora d'una ópera n'España, nel 2015, cola interpretación de Il Trovatore y Attila, al mandu de la Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia, en La Coruña.[7][9]
