লক্ষ্মী ফেঁচা (ইংৰাজী: Barn Owl, বৈজ্ঞানিক নাম: Tyto alba) সমগ্ৰ চৰাইৰ প্ৰজাতিসমূহৰ ভিতৰতে বহুলভাৱে বিস্তৃত হৈ থকা চৰাইৰ প্ৰজাতিসমূহৰ ভিতৰত এটা। ইয়াক দুই মেৰু আৰু মৰুভূমি অঞ্চল তথা প্ৰশান্ত মহাসাগৰীয় দ্বীপসমূহৰ বাহিৰে পৃথিৱীৰ প্ৰায় সকলো ঠাইতে পোৱা যায়।^[1] ইয়াৰ বাহ্যিক ৰূপ, মাত, বসতিস্থল তথা নীৰৱে উৰিব পৰা ক্ষমতাৰ ভিত্তিত বহুতো নামেৰে অভিহিত কৰা হয়, যেনে-White Owl, Silver Owl, Demon Owl, Ghost Owl, Death Owl, Night Owl, Rat Owl, Church Owl, Cave Owl, Stone Owl, Monkey-faced Owl, Hissing Owl, Hobgoblin or Hobby Owl, Dobby Owl, White-breasted Owl, Golden Owl, Scritch Owl, Screech Owl, Straw Owl, Barnyard Owl and Delicate Owl ইত্যাদি।^[2][3]

লক্ষ্মী ফেঁচা শেঁতা বৰণৰ দীঘল ডেউকা তথা ঠেং আৰু চুটি বৰ্গাকাৰ নেজ বিশিষ্ট এবিধ ফেঁচাৰ প্ৰজাতি। ইয়াৰ দেহৰ দৈৰ্ঘ্য ২৫-৫০ ছেঃমিঃ আৰু ডেউকাৰ দৈৰ্ঘ্য ৭৫-১১০ ছেঃমিঃ হয়^[4][5] পূৰ্ণবয়স্ক লক্ষ্মী ফেঁচাৰ দেহৰ ওজন ১৮৭ গ্ৰামৰ পৰা ৮০০ গ্ৰাম পৰ্যন্ত হ’ব পাৰে।^[6][7] লক্ষ্মী ফেঁচাৰ মূৰ আৰু দেহৰ ওপৰ অংশৰ বৰণ পাতল মটিয়াৰ পৰা ডাঠ মুগা ধৰণৰ হ’ব পাৰে। হৃদ-আকৃতিৰ মুখখন সাধাৰণতে উজ্জ্বল বগা। দেহৰ তলৰ অংশ ৰঙা-বগা (reddish buff). চকুৰ মণিৰ বৰণ ক’লা-মটিয়া (blackish brown)।^[8]

অন্যান্য ফেঁচাৰ প্ৰজাতিবোৰৰ দৰেই লক্ষ্মী ফেঁচা নিশাচৰ, অৱশ্যে আন্ধাৰ হোৱাৰ কিছুসময় পূৰ্বৰে পৰাই সক্ৰিয় হৈ পৰে আৰু কেতিয়াবা দিনৰ ভাগতো ইয়াক দেখা পোৱা যায়। ইয়াল ঘাঁহনি বা খেতি পথাৰতো দেখা যায়। ইহঁতে অকণো শব্দ নকৰাকৈ নীৰৱে উৰিব পাৰে^[12]

লক্ষ্মী ফেঁচাই সৰু মেৰুদণ্ডী প্ৰাণী যেনে নিগনি, ক’লা এন্দুৰ (Rattus rattus) আদি খাই জীয়াই থাকে। লক্ষ্মী ফেঁচাৰ শুনিব পৰা ক্ষমতা বিশেষভাৱে উন্নত আৰু এইবাবে চিকাৰৰ বাবে দৃষ্টিশক্তিৰ প্ৰয়োজন নপৰে।
