Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 22:51, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2008-05-30T22:51:00.000Z","author":"SineBot","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-SineBot-2008-05-30T22:51:00.000Z-Your_recent_edits","replies":[]}}-->
Please sign your messages on talk pages with four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically insert your "signature" (your username and a date stamp). The button, on the tool bar above Wikipedia's text editing window, also does this.
If you would like to play around with your new Wiki skills the Sandbox is for you.
Good luck, and have fun. --Patar knight - chat/contributions00:29, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2008-06-01T00:29:00.000Z","author":"Patar knight","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Patar_knight-2008-06-01T00:29:00.000Z-Welcome","replies":[]}}-->

Good evening. In a recent deletion discussion, you questioned the applicability of WP:CORP to a mall since that guideline "is for an individual company". The thing to remember is that the mall is an individual company - it's the landlord that the other tenants rent space from. Certain malls may qualify for extra consideration based on the building (for example, if they have exceptional architecture) but other than that, a mall is the same as any other landlord. We deliberately wrote WP:CORP broadly to encompass as many kinds of organizations as possible. Hope that clarifies things a bit. If you'd like to discuss it more, you might want to drop a comment on WP:CORP's Talk page. Thanks. Hi there, I was reading through wp:Ani, and found that a complaint has been made about you, regarding adding NPOV tags to articles, please remember to discuss on the relevent talkpage when you place a tag on an article, it stops confusion like this and means we know what is NPOV in your opinion, if you need anymore information about this, feel free to drop me a line on my talkpage. Best regards, Chafford (talk) 09:46, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2008-06-06T09:46:00.000Z","author":"Chafford","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Chafford-2008-06-06T09:46:00.000Z-NPOV","replies":["c-Trebor-2008-06-06T10:13:00.000Z-Chafford-2008-06-06T09:46:00.000Z"]}}-->
In the case of Chris Crocker, adding a tag saying it needs additional citations borders on the disruptive given how many references there already are. If you think there are uncited statements, tag or remove them and then discuss on the talk page. If you feel the article is POV, you also need to give your reasoning on the talk page. Continuing to readd the tags without engaging in discussion will be seen as disruptive editing and you could end up getting blocked. What correlation is there between x amount of citations and uncited content? If i have 90 references for 15 out of 20 statements but none for the rest, the rest still need citations. There is an error in your logic. I have mentioned it on the talk page. I could give additional information if necessary, however I believe it it pretty obvious what needs to be done. Here's my line. In general the article's tone is very unencyclopedic, it is full of useless trivia, a lot of content is inserted repetitiously. its not a good read at all. basically. its a bad article. lets improve it. if it must exist.

Regarding your comments on Chris Crocker: Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks will lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. You've now accused me twice of being Crocker - please stop. You have some valid concerns and if you would dial down the accusations we can have some constructive dialog and it could help the article improve. Per your request, in this diff your entire message on my talk page is "are you chris crocker?" A day later on the talk page of the Crocker article you wrote in this diff - "Also you have very serious POV issues since you are Chris Crocker." Crocker, if you hadn't seen it in the article, gets near-daily death threats so I encourage you to cease from accusing anyone' of being Crocker as death threats are not to be taken lightly. The first is not an accusation, it is a question that you have yet to answer. I personally feel you are very likely the individual in question. Death threats which may or may not be real are not my problem and thinking someone is the individual question has nothing to do with the alleged death threats as I am not threatening anyone. The only person liable is the person making the threats. I doubt Crocker has ever received any serious death threats. FYI Crocker posted the original video then removed it for his own reasons, it showed him and his "brother" who he revealed to be his boyfriend at the time in a reliable source. it was indeed a hoax likely to shock people. Two further points. First, read WP:BLP. You may not defame living people on Wikipedia. If you continue to put yourself and Wikipedia in legal jeopardy by doing this you will be blocked from editing. Myheartinchile, please be more careful with the way you phrase comments on Wikipedia as the comment you posted to the Crocker talk page was a clear violation of the Biographies of Living People policy. I believe that you didn't intend to do anything wrong but the fact is that it was a violation of policy and the warning was therefore correct and you were lucky you weren't blocked. If you want to post a controversial topic like this in future, please provide a link to an article in a newspaper or other reliable source discussing the issue and remember that the WP:BLP policy applies to all pages on Wikipedia, not just the article itself. YouTube isn't a reliable source on Wikipedia; please read the guideline on reliable sources to see what kinds of sites are acceptable to use as sources. On Wikipedia, we are very strict with biographies of living people so please be more careful. Myheartinchile, the administrator at WP:ANI did not tell you my warning was unjustified. He said you were permitted to remove the warning, which you are. respectfully, that's patent bull. the article in question uses youtube as a source dozens of times and the claims in question are represented in a video from the article's subject that he made and posted on youtube. it was the only source i had and its the only source for all the other videos besides "Leave Brittany Alone". I asked on the administrators reporting page and they said the warning was unwarranted. i don't think anything i claimed was controversial with regarads the to behavior and "art" that this individual is reported on in the context of this article or his life. see the video for yourself [3] if a video is not a reliable source for the subject at hand i don't know what is.Myheartinchile (talk) 02:05, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2008-06-10T02:05:00.000Z","author":"Myheartinchile","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Myheartinchile-2008-06-10T02:05:00.000Z-warning","replies":["c-Sarah-2008-06-10T02:20:00.000Z-Myheartinchile-2008-06-10T02:05:00.000Z"]}}-->
Please re-read the administrator's noticeboard Wikipedia:ANI#warning_removal - I was one of the admins who responded to you and none of us have said the warning was unwarranted. We have only said that you may remove the messages if you want to, which is something that all users on Wikipedia are allowed to do on their own talk page so long as they don't do it in a disruptive manner. No one on ANI has told you the warning was unwarranted. YouTube is not a reliable source, again, please read - reliable sources, verifiability and Biographies of Living People. Links to YouTube are used to link to the videos in question but they are not suitable to use as reliable sources for a blp and most certainly not for controversial claims like asserting that someone is in an incestuous relationship with their brother. If you want to make controversial claims, you need to find reliable sources as defined by Wikipedia and if you don't you are going to end up being the blocked. That's the bottom line, really. You can think it's "patent bull" if you wish but you've been warned by multiple admins now and if you continue to make such comments about living people without reliable sources (again, as defined by Wikipedia, not by your own opinion) then you will be blocked. Myheartinchile, as I've stated a few times now, it was the semantics and tone that got you into trouble. Your statement was that Crocker was is a incestuous relationship, instead you can simple link to the source (video in this case) and ask something like, this seems likes it's worth mentioning, anyone else agree or have seen it before? You could even state he seems to be in an incestuous relationship - is that true? It allows other editors to check the source and likely someone will respond with the correct info, in this case that it was a hoax. As explained by others, you need to be careful with how you phrase comments on biographies. That question you asked was phrased as though it were a statement of fact and that is a large part of the problem. The other thing is that if it is something likely to be considered controversial or something that might be considered libelous, then you need to have a link to a source. Also, remember that article talk pages are for discussing the article only, not for discussing gossip so it's really not the place to go to to ask if something is true or not. I have nominated Student lounge, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Student lounge (2nd nomination). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Hi, you were probably unaware but renaming articles should generally not be done when they are in AfD or in this case deletion review. Excellent template addition, though it needs to be cleaned up a bit. While this was a good faith report on my part, given the existence of an alternate possible explanation for the apparent sockpuppetry, and the fact that both explanations seem equally likely, I concede there is no proof even by a burden of the preponderance of the evidence (requiring sockpuppetry to be more likely than not) that this is a case of sockpuppetry. It's because that while there is a tendency to create articles for platform stops, there is an aversion to create articles for regular stops (those on the J, K, L, M, and N, with exceptions). Ok. The article title, infobox title, and the first mention in the article body are supposed to have the full name of the station (minus "station"), such as "Folsom and The Embarcadero", etc. The contraction, "Folsom", can be used in the rest of the article. The top text line should be bold and contain the full (official) name of the item. This does not need to match the article's Wikipedia title. It should not contain a link. Avoid {{{PAGENAME}}} as pages may be moved for disambiguation.
The lead paragraph shall include the name of the station as it appears on the system map, and not a short-hand name, but those can and should be mentioned later.
The article title is taken to conform with the other articles (e.g. Montgomery, where on Wikipedia it is denoted as "Montgomery Street") —Kurykh02:47, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2008-07-12T02:47:00.000Z","author":"Kurykh","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Kurykh-2008-07-12T02:47:00.000Z-T_Third_Street_stations","replies":[]}}-->

Next time when you edit templates, please remember to check if you're breaking them. For example, on Template:S Castro Shuttle, you inadvertently created a gaping hole on the line of images with the inclusion of the end of the T line (which wasn't necessary anyway). There's detail, but workability of the templates come first. They do have limitations, and can't accommodate all details. —Kurykh17:03, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2008-07-10T17:03:00.000Z","author":"Kurykh","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Kurykh-2008-07-10T17:03:00.000Z-Templates","replies":[]}}-->

Your AfD nomination has me puzzled. How does this "substantiate" any other article on Wikipedia? This book is part of the notable "alphabet" series from Sue Grafton, who is without a doubt a notable author. There're two valid sources in the article already, and all of her other "alphabet" books have a page, so why did you single this one out? Okay. I still think it calls for a speedy close, as I can't imagine any of her alphabet books being non-notable. The series as a whole has received a ton of publicity, and some of the pages are fairly detailed, so I would imagine that you could write long articles on every book in the series. I'm pretty sure all of these have nicked the Best Sellers list at some point. That's okay. Just keep in mind that if the author is notable, their works are almost certainly notable as well. A merge of her books would be out of the question — there're 20 of them, so it would make for one huge article. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshells • Otter chirps • HELP)00:32, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2008-08-03T00:32:00.000Z","author":"TenPoundHammer","type":"comment","level":3,"id":"c-TenPoundHammer-2008-08-03T00:32:00.000Z-TenPoundHammer-2008-08-03T00:20:00.000Z","replies":["c-TenPoundHammer-2008-08-03T00:54:00.000Z-TenPoundHammer-2008-08-03T00:32:00.000Z"],"displayName":"Ten Pound Hammer"}}-->
It's not my logic, it's just common outcomes. All of Grafton's novels have sold about equally well, so they're on pretty much even footing though their articles seem to be varied. If you think the articles need improvement, I'd say tag them with {{expand}}. And I have seen and enjoyed your input to the project, so I am glad that I could pay tribute to your offerings. I love the Bay Area -- I was in San Francisco last month and will be back there in October (it is my favourite U.S. city). Please feel free to stay in touch. I remember crossing paths with you in some AfD discussions (the name rings a bell, since I knew some people who emigrated to Chile and that is why I recalled you). I've also seen your DYK honours, which are impressive. I go to the Bay Area for a combination of business and pleasure. I usually like to ramble about and see where my feet take me (no agenda travel). It is a fine-looking article. I might suggest combining the two political sections and perhaps moving the demographics section further up the piece. I saw a couple of places where copy editing might help, but I would only swing me axe with your permission (you clearly put a lot of work into this and I don't want to stick my thumbprints in without your OK). A stub is an article containing only a few sentences of text which is too short to provide encyclopedic coverage of a subject, but not so short as to provide no useful information. Sizable articles are usually not considered stubs, even if they lack wikification or copy editing. With these articles, a cleanup template is usually added instead of a stub template.
Bruener Marsh may still need expanding to give more information, and it may need wikification or other cleanup, but it is considerably longer than anything that could be considered a stub. At the moment it does read a bit like something you'd find oin the company's own website (which makes sense, seeing as that's where the link's to). To make it seem less advertisement like, consider the following things:
is it a proproetary brand name? If so, say so - if not, list some of the other companies making it
what is the history of the product? Who invented it and/or when was it first marketed?
how does it achieve this paste-like medium - is it a mix of chalk and ink, or something different?
If you can find out those things (or even just one or two of them) and add the info to the article, it might make the article a bit longer and less like an ad. Hope that helps, Grutness...wha?04:20, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2008-08-09T04:20:00.000Z","author":"Grutness","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Grutness-2008-08-09T04:20:00.000Z-wet_wipe_markers","replies":["c-Grutness-2008-08-11T02:16:00.000Z-Grutness-2008-08-09T04:20:00.000Z"]}}-->
A lot better now - it doesn't sound biased towards one company's product, and give more information about what they're made of. A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Breuner Airfield, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Bad faith? Is that what he told you? Go look at the edit histories for yourself. The Breuner Airfield page had insufficient refs to stand on its own from the start. I tried to help at first but couldn't find other independent refs. I put a notability tag on the page, but he just removed it. I gave up helping when User:Myheartinchile started an edit war over the category and list for Bay Area airports, continuously acting contrary to the criteria already listed on the page. He even started making edits to the criteria without any dialog on the talk page. Do you really have sympathy for that behavior? I had no alternative but to bring it to the attention of admins, because repeating these reverts would run against the three-revert rule. It was biting a hand that was trying to feed him (or more directly, driving away and attacking a volunteer who was trying to help.) One admin gave the assistance I requested by reverting the changes to the airport list & category. Another admin reviewed Breuner Airfield and determined it didn't have refs to justify notability and gave it an AfD nom - he said it would have qualified for speedy delete but did a prod and AfD to give the author the benefit of the doubt. If he claims this is bad faith, it's just sour grapes because things haven't gone the way he wanted - he needs to review his own actions first and not forget to assume good faith about others. Brushing aside established conventions predictably results in other editors acting to restore them. Thanks for your expression of interest in Wikipedia Prisons, otherwise known as Wikiproject Correction and Detention Facilities. Seven people have now indicated here that they would like to help out so I am now assuming that this project will actually happen. I suppose we need to take care of a few preliminaries: getting through the proposal stage, and creating a wikiproject page, page tag, and maybe an infobox. Please stop forum shopping to try to get Breuner Airfield into lists and categories of airports. Proof by assertion is not an acceptable method of finding consensus on Wikipedia. I've observed you posting the same or similar suggestions in Talk:Breuner Airfield, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Breuner Airfield, Talk:List of airports in the San Francisco Bay Area, Category talk:Airports in the San Francisco Bay Area, Category talk:Airports in the United States by state , Category talk:Airports in California and Talk:List of private-use airports in California. Yes, you've made it clear that you want to call Breuner Airfield an airport. You're entitled to your opinion. You have received and ignored answers from myself and other editors (some of whom are admins who responded when I asked for help dealing with this situation) saying that calling Breuner Airfield an airport is inappropriate, absurd and nonsense, among other responses. The Third Opinion that you solicited determined that "If it's in the US and the FAA doesn't call it an airport, it's not an airport." I have provided links to Wikipedia:WikiProject_Airports#Creation_Checklists showing that the WikiProject Airports uses the standard of starting with a ICAO, IATA and/or FAA airport code as the first step in creating any airport article - and the consensus there is that even just having an airport code alone is not enough to make an airport notable. Breuner Airfield is a model airplane field and it does not have any airport registration at all. Please accept the feedback of the Wikipedia community that it is inappropriate to pursue calling Breuner Airfield an airport. Please cease and desist from further edits and arguments to add it to lists of airports or enter it into any airport categories. I'm a little worried about the category you created: Category:LGBT topics in the San Francisco Bay Area. There are no other categories like this, so you're "breaking new ground" by creating it. Not necessarily a bad thing, just one that should be done thoughtfully :)

Wake up WP:LGBT! It's time to kick in gear and get some things done!
Project News
Wake up!
I say this to myself as much as I say it to all of us. I work a lot by myself or with individual editors who spend time at Featured Article Candidates. It seems on November 5 a fog was lifted off my brain that helped me realize that we have massive potential in this project to get things done. Take this allegory, for instance: On Wednesday, Nov. 5, 1980, my 10th-grade American history teacher started class by unfurling The New York Times. She pointed to its triple banner headline: “Reagan Easily Beats Carter; Republicans Gain in Congress; D’Amato and Dodd are Victors.” “Save this paper,” she told us. “This is the start of a whole new era.”Judith Warner from The New York Times
It definitely seems a start to a whole new era now. If planets align correctly to remind us that whatever advances we may have made in electing what appears to be an extraordinary president in the US, the moons that revolve around those planets also serve to illustrate it's not that simple. Florida, Arizona, and California all appear to have banned same sex marriage. As someone who was married in California and lives in Florida, this is particularly poignant. We seem to be at the juncture of two converging paths. If we maximize our efforts and take the right ones, we might just be able to affect some change for ourselves.
Though what we do is an interesting hobby for some, we have the power to make a difference. California's ballot initiative to ban gay marriage was a fierce fight. It's being challenged right now, but just look at how Wikipedia played a role in that: in October 2008, 360,238 people read its article. On November 5, an astounding 467,000 people read it. I commend the editors who work on that article—both those who support and oppose it. A look at the talk page shows a concerted effort to keep it civil and accurate.
What can we do?
How do you fight ignorance? With information. That's what Wikipedia is for. This project is overwhelming with 8,576 articles in its scope. We can continue to work piecemeal as we have in the past, or we can focus on goals. These are examples of areas we can concentrate on.
Current political events
LGBT Media and Literature
LGBT History
Sex and sexuality
Articles about political issues in the US and around the world that have been especially relevant within the past 5 years
Depictions of LGBT people and issues on television, film, newspapers, magazines
Topics about gay rights activism and the opposition to it
There are more than 8,000 articles to work on. Can we build a list of priorities? Can we build enough enthusiasm to work on these? What if we had editors who oversaw progress in these areas and reported to the talk page or in the newsletter? Surely someone here wants to report on the progress of sex articles.
Tony Perkins (irony) from the conservative Family Research Councilwas heartened by the recent passages of gay marriage bans. The Republican Party is without direction. What's going to take the place of a moderate voice will not be pleasant to our ears. Watching and improving articles of subjects that have opposed gay rights in the past will be of vital importance very soon, I predict.
But WP:LGBT is not a very active project
All we can do is start somewhere. The first step is answering this newsletter on the project talk page. Join in the discussion.
More things we can do
Give out more barnstars, and let each other know that what they're doing is valued.
Create a guide to stave off burnout, because editors in this project get burned out faster than others. There are many hills to climb.
Bring back the monthly collaboration project.
Participate in LGBT Peer reviews.
Get familiar with the characteristics of Good Articles and get our top priority articles to WP:GA.
Use the Newsletter, Moni3! You can suggest what to send out in the newsletter, too!
Offer research materials, copy editing, ideas, and support to your fellow editors.
Keep the project talk page informed of problems and discussions we should know about.
Proposal: Put Importance Levels on articles
If this was decided long before I was a member, maybe it's time to revisit it. Other WikiProjects, such as WP:Novels determine that some subjects have an importance category: Top, High, Mid, Low, or None (undetermined). If we decide that our most core articles, it might help to organize which articles to address first. Top importance, for example, would be Gay, Homosexual, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Sappho, Oscar Wilde, Stonewall riots, for example. High importance would be Homosexuality and psychology, Harvey Milk, Mattachine Society, Harry Hay, or Daughters of Bilitis, and so on. This can be a matter of discussion, or perhaps we could have someone in charge of determining these levels for all the articles we have tagged.
These are the editors I've seen working (and I know I'm forgetting a few). There's more of you out there I haven't seen. Some of you are new. We need all of you. Please help.
Miami, January 18, 1977 after the gay rights ordinance was passed: While Bryant and the others were creating the beginnings of the repeal effort, (gay activists) Basker, Campbell, Kunst, and the other (gay rights) ordinance supporters congratulated themselves on their success and then quickly disbanded... There was no organized recognition or celebration of the victory. As one activist remembered, "We just went home." They had little idea of the battle that was before them. - Fred Fejes in Gay Rights and Moral Panic, 2008

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Visconti Triplets, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:
no authentic sources supporting the fairly unusual claim of the article, only sourced information comes from a porn marketing site that fails WP:RS. Surprisingly low number of Google hits, given the expected pornspam.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. How do you change the world? You can start by writing an incredible article for the world's encyclopedia. Moni3 kicks it old school again with Stonewall riots - a series of spontaneous, violent demonstrations against a police raid that took place in the early morning hours of June 28, 1969 at the Stonewall Inn. [...] [T]hey have become the defining event that marked the start of the gay rights movement in the United States and around the world. It's a featured article hitting the mainpage this Sunday to mark the 40th anniversary of the events. So first off, wow! Clever and cool. Moni3 has been recently named hottest delegate to Obama's bookclub but that may not be official yet. (Shhh!)
Otto4711 mentioned that gee we really should swamp the DYK section with LGBT-related articles for use on the 28th as well. We have eight or so in the holding area and if you push yourself to get an article together you might be able to get in on the fun. Do this now!
The official rules for DYKs can be found here. Once you have expanded an article 5-fold or created an article with at least 1,500 characters of prose, place your DYK thread here. Use this handy tool to count your 1,500 characters. As a suggestion, when you add your potential hook, include the character count and a link to the source(s) that confirm the hook. These will be confirmed anyway but may help.
The layout for the individual quotes is here (just copy/paste into one of the red links on Portal:Transgender/Random quote). Then this counter has to be upped to match the new # of total quotes (not counting quote zero).

On June 1, President Barack Obama declared June 2009 Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month, citing the riots as a reason to "commit to achieving equal justice under law for LGBT Americans". Excerpts at the bottom.
F*ck me I'm famous
I was interviewed by Wikipedia Signpost, the weekly in-house newsletter, for the WikiProject report. The Signpost has nearly 1,000 Wikipedian subscribers and arguably many of those folks actually read it. It came about rather quickly and my worst fears - that it was an elaborate hoax by a troll - were apparently unfounded. I hope y'all feel I did fine by the project, I did my best to avoid the phrase "man-humping, cock-sucking, doggy-style loving queer" but otherwise did ok.
Free image appeal
A friendly reminder to consider taking photos while you're out and about at various Dyke marches and Pride parades. Consider donating them to the world at Wikicommons. I'm sooo totally over having to deal with lovely images being deleted and argued about. If they are just free they are then also freely usable worldwide. And no, they don't need photos of your cha-cha or hoo-hoo-dilly.
Sonny and Cher's daughter was a famous lesbian and now he's a famous transman, possibly the most famous in the world. This also serves as a friendly reminder that we recently updated Wikipedia:WikiProject LGBT studies/Guidelines - it's not perfect but should help inform on those gnip-gnop battles that do seem to drag on, and not in the good way.
As part of the redecorating at our talkpage, the article alerts and keyword search alerts are handily located at the top of the page. Always fascinating to see what's up. All help appreciated on those.
Glambert
Adam Lambert is soooo gay - surprised? Neither is anyone else. Nuff said. David Ogden Stiers was outed but apparently he wasn't terribly in either.
The LGBT studies project does have its own free Internet Relay Chat channel, #wikipedia-en-lgbtconnect, for coordination, collaboration and socializing. This channel is hosted on Freenode and can be accessed in one of two ways: If you already have an IRC client, click the link to the left. If you do not have an IRC client, you'll need to get one installed on your computer first. Once you've done this, then click on the link to the left.
For more general information on IRC and a listing of other useful Wikipedia-related channels, see Wikipedia:IRC channels.
The project had at one point another channel at #LGBTprojectconnect but as the original people associated with the setting up and administration of that channel have seemed to have disappeared, this new channel has been set up. Plus the new channel is inline with required naming conventions for Wikipedia related IRC channels. So, feel free to use this channel. Such a channel gives opportunity to discuss the latest happening on articles, the LGBT project itself, latest happening in your life with "wiki-friends" here, etc.. You can say things on there you normally wouldn't here on Wikipedia (keeping it civil of course) like talk about the latest hot guy/girl or tell a joke.. you get the point. Anyway, see you there - eventually!

There are many well-respected LGBT leaders in all professional fields, including the arts and business communities. [I]n both the White House and the Federal agencies -- openly LGBT employees are doing their jobs with distinction and professionalism. [...] LGBT youth should feel safe to learn without the fear of harassment, and LGBT families and seniors should be allowed to live their lives with dignity and respect. At the international level, I have joined efforts at the United Nations to decriminalize homosexuality around the world. Here at home, I continue to support measures to bring the full spectrum of equal rights to LGBT Americans. These measures include enhancing hate crimes laws, supporting civil unions and Federal rights for LGBT couples, outlawing discrimination in the workplace, ensuring adoption rights, and ending the existing "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy in a way that strengthens our Armed Forces and our national security. [...] As long as the promise of equality for all remains unfulfilled, all Americans are affected. If we can work together to advance the principles upon which our Nation was founded, every American will benefit. During LGBT Pride Month, I call upon the LGBT community, the Congress, and the American people to work together to promote equal rights for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. [...] I call upon the people of the United States to turn back discrimination and prejudice everywhere it exists. - Barack Obama, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month, 2009, The White House (June 1, 2009).

Lord Chaitanya knows everything that happens in all three phases (past, present, and future, of time. He knows that in the future some demoni people will serve Lord Advaita.
Text 123
They will refer to Lord Advaita by the name "Shri Krishna". In this way they will reject the words of the true Vaishnavas.
Text 124
These sinners will thus disobey the devotees who affirm that Advaita is "the greatest Vaishnava".
Text 125
Many persons will consider themselves the followers of Lord Advaita, but they will not have the power to see how in the future they will be punished.
Text 126
Lord Chaitanya, the crest jewel of they who know everything, knew all this. Therefore He did something to try to stop this from happening.
Text 127
By punishing His mother, Lord Chaitanya showed the result that comes from offending Lord Advaita or any other Vaishnava.
Text 128
No one can protect a person who has offended a Vaishnava.
Text 129
Therefore one should avoid persons who offend Vaishnava.
Text 130
One should avoid an offender, even if the offender is otherwise very qualified. A little association with an offender will make one fall down.
Text 131
Who has the power to understand why the Lord gives punishment? By punishing His mother, He taught everyone.
Text 132
Anyone who blasphemes they who use the word `Vaishnava" to address Lord Advaita will be punished. He will perish.
Text 133
Lord Chaitanya is theSupreme Personality of Godhead, the master of all. To be called His follower is very great praise.
Text 134
Without any intention to deceive, Lord Chaitanya openly said that Lord Nityananda is the Supreme Personality of Godhead Himself.
Text 135
By Lord Nityananda's mercy I know Lord Chaitanya. By Lord Nityananda's mercy I know the Vaishnavas.
Text 136
By Lord Nityananda's mercy offenses are destroyed. By Lord Nityananda's mercy one attains devotion to Lord Vishnu.
Text 137
Blasphemy directed to Lord Nityananda's servants never enters my mouth. Day and night I happily sing Lord Chaitanya's glories
Text 138
I carefully serve Lord Nityananda's devotees. Lord Chaitanya is the life and wealth of Lord Nityananda's servants.
Text 139
A person who has only a little good fortune will not become Lord Nityananda's servant, for Lord Nityananda's servant is able to see Lord Chaitanya.
Text 140
Anyone who hears this story of Lord Visvarupa becomes a servant of the limitless Supreme Personality of Godhead. He feels that Lord Nityananda is his very life.
Text 141
Lord Nityananda and Lord Visvarupa do not have different bodies. This Mother Saci knew. Some other great souls also knew.
Text 142
Glory to Lord Nityananda, who takes shelter of Lord Chaitanya! Glory, glory to Lord Nityananda, who is thousand-faced Ananta Sesha!
Text 143
O Lord Nityananda, O king of Gauda-desa, glory to You! Who can attain Lord Chaitanya without first attaining Your mercy?
Text 144
Anyone who loses Lord Nityananda will not be happy in this life.
Text 145
Will I some day see Lord Chaitanya, Lord Nityananda, and their associates all thogether in one place?
Text 146
Lord Chaitanya is my master. With great faith and hope I meditate on Him within my heart.
Text 147
I bow down before Lord Advaita's feet. I pray that he will always be dear to me and that He will always stay in my thoughts.
Text 148
The two moons Shri Krishna Chaitanya and Shri Nityananda are my life and soul. I, Vrindavana dasa, sing the glories of Their feet. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.132.82.156 (talk) 13:58, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2010-07-02T13:58:00.000Z","author":"95.132.82.156","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-95.132.82.156-2010-07-02T13:58:00.000Z-WikiProject_LGBT_studies_Newsletter_(June_2009)","replies":[]}}-->

Hi! My name is Annie Lin - I'm the Campus Team Coordinator at the Wikimedia Foundation. I'm contacting you because you're listed as a resident of San Francisco, and we're currently looking for a friendly Wikipedian to teach students in a University of San Francisco class how to use/edit Wikipedia. This is a role titled the "Wikipedia Campus Ambassador," and you'll basically be doing in-class presentations about Wikipedia, running Wikipedia labs/workshops, and in general providing face-to-face Wikipedia help for the professor and the students in the class. The time commitment is about 3-5 hours a week (with variations throughout the semester), and for this particular University of San Francisco class, most of the workload will be between March and May.
Please let me know if you're interested!
Thanks.

Hey -
Sorry for the late notice, but since you have yourself tagged as living in the Bay Area, I thought you might appreciate notification that we’re having an event Saturday! It’ll be held at Hoyt Hall, an all-women's house of the Berkeley Student Cooperative from 3 to 6 pm tomorrow. The main event page is here.
Anyone is welcome to show up, but we’re expecting a significant number of people to come who have literally never edited Wikipedia before. If you’re an experienced Wikipedian who would be able to provide useful help to some of the newbies, your presence would be especially appreciated (and it might be a good idea for you to show up at 2 or 2:30 instead of three.
Thanks, Kevin Gorman (talk) 02:04, 6 April 2013 (UTC)
I’m AWB’ing this message to all Wikipedians who have tagged themselves in the bay area. I’m sorry if the message isn’t of interest to you; feel free to delete it. I’ll be unlikely to send future messages in a similar way, but if really don’t want to receive future messages of this sort, please let me know. Hi Myheartinchile. In case you are not aware, there is an upcoming campaign to improve coverage of LGBT-related topics on Wikipedia, culminating with an international edit-a-thon on June 21. See Wiki Loves Pride 2014 for more information. If you are interested, you might consider creating a page for a major city (or cities!) near you, with a list of LGBT-related articles that need to be created or improved. This would be a tremendous help to Wikipedia and coverage of LGBT culture and history. Thanks for your consideration, and please let me know if you have any questions! --Another Believer(Talk)16:26, 9 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2014-05-09T16:26:00.000Z","author":"Another Believer","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Another_Believer-2014-05-09T16:26:00.000Z-Wiki_Loves_Pride_2014","replies":[]}}-->

When?June 2015
How can you help?
1.) Create or improve LGBT-related articles and showcase the results of your work here
2.) Upload photographs or other media related to LGBT culture and history, including pride events, and add images to relevant Wikipedia articles; feel free to create a subpage with a gallery of your images (see examples from last year)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Thanks for uploading File:Breunersoakland.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to [email protected], stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to [email protected].
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. As a participant of WikiProject LGBT studies, you are invited to participate in the third annual Wiki Loves Pride campaign, which runs through the month of June. The purpose of the campaign is to create and improve content related to LGBT culture and history. How can you help?
Create or improve LGBT-related Wikipedia pages and showcase the results of your work here
Document local LGBT culture and history by taking pictures at pride events and uploading your images to Wikimedia Commons
Looking for topics? The Tasks page, which you are welcome to update, offers some ideas and wanted articles.
This campaign is supported by the Wikimedia LGBT+ User Group, an officially recognized affiliate of the Wikimedia Foundation. The group's mission is to develop LGBT-related content across all Wikimedia projects, in all languages. Visit the affiliate's page at Meta-Wiki for more information, or follow Wikimedia LGBT+ on Facebook. Remember, Wiki Loves Pride is about creating and improving LGBT-related content at Wikimedia projects, and content should have a neutral point of view. One does not need to identify as LGBT or any other gender or sexual minority to participate. This campaign is about adding accurate, reliable information to Wikipedia, plain and simple, and all are welcome! If you have any questions, please leave a message on the campaign's talk page.
Thanks, and happy editing! ---Another Believer(Talk)19:39, 30 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2016-05-30T19:39:00.000Z","author":"Another Believer","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Another_Believer-2016-05-30T19:39:00.000Z-Wiki_Loves_Pride_2016","replies":[]}}-->

Thank you for uploading File:Locofeverposter.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.
This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details.
