Can you give me the exact quote regarding not speaking in court, both in Russian and your translation into English, as well as lawyer Ershov's full name? I have found relevant information regarding the rights of the accused in pre-2014 Ukraine, which is supposed to be the basis of DPR law. I will be able to reintroduce that text as well as put it in context once you do. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nicosa77 (talkcontribs)

Hi, please note that WP:GS/RUSUKR extends to all articles with any content about Russo-Ukrainian War (all pages with content related to the Russo-Ukrainian War, broadly construed). So this would include edits on Slava Ukraini. Thanks. Mellk (talk) 08:50, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Slava and so.

Dear User, I haven’t meet you here before (I am on Wikipedia since 2004, nearly the very beginning) and I would like to thank you very much for your patience and the other things. I am quite afraid that some people just want to associate the word “fascist” or “nazi” (Goodwin point earned) to everything that comes from Ukraine. As I have studied Ukrainian (and not Russian) perhaps I have a bias, but in my point of view, as I have also studied the earliest forms of democracy in the Cossacks’ society (much before the birth of democracy in England or Iceland), I do not associate Ukraine to fascism and so. I am just quite afraid to see as strong and vigorous as never the far-right ideas in our countries. So thank you again for resisting. Arorae (talk) 13:19, 2 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

That's a known problem. See https://lens.monash.edu/@politics-society/2022/08/19/1384992/much-azov-about-nothing-how-the-ukrainian-neo-nazis-canard-fooled-the-world The “What about Azov Nazis?” canard has become a ubiquitous tu quoque that Russia deploys to problematise Western support for Ukraine, and distract from its own record of atrocities. Literally meaning “you also” in Latin, this logical fallacy is more informally known as “whataboutism”, and has been deployed in Russian propaganda for decades. In cruder terms, one might recall the playground retort, “I know you are, but what am I?” Manyareasexpert (talk) 13:35, 2 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hamas-Israel 2023 war casualties

Hello there, sorry to bother you, I can't edit the page myself and I saw you were discussing the topic in the talk page. The voice says this is the deadliest conflict for children in 21st century, but this is absolutley contradicted by other reliable sources. Just for example, Save the children talks about 85k children dead by starving in the Yemeni civil war---->[1] and I really can't see how less than 6k children died in the Syrian civil war (300k civilian deaths), just to make one example. Thank you if you care to read. -- 2001:B07:646C:20FA:68DE:1B27:972E:B296 (talk) 20:19, 25 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Revert it back the way it is.

January 2024

Information icon Hi Manyareasexpert! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Novorossiya (confederation) several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Novorossiya (confederation), please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 14:25, 30 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The article has had no infobox since at least September [2] . Please follow rules you just posted and revert new changes back to a consensus version. ManyAreasExpert (talk) 14:32, 30 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics

You have recently edited a page related to Eastern Europe or the Balkans, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template. If you have questions, please contact me or ask at the Arbitration Committee Clerks Noticeboard. Mellk (talk) 01:50, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Old East Slavic, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Rus. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 05:55, 28 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your user page

Could you please explain what is meant by "Don't be red - will be greeted with more respect 😎" on your user page? Adam Black talkcontribs 11:31, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The user link is red when the page is empty. ManyAreasExpert (talk) 11:33, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I see. Since everyone already knows what a red link means, you haven't mentioned links, and given your edits to certain contentious topics of late, it's not unreasonable for someone to infer something completely different from that statement as I did. You may like to give thought to changing it. Adam Black talkcontribs 11:54, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You mean linking red to communism? I'm not accustomed to cultural aspects of this. ManyAreasExpert (talk) 12:13, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Just to be clear, I'm not trying to say that it is or was your intention to say people of certain ideologies or nationalities will be treated with more respect by you. But the colour red has long been linked with communism and the Soviet Union, and to a lesser extent the Russian Federation. Other editors may make a similar mental leap as I did. Making the statement on your user page clearer is simply a suggestion and you don't have to change it if you don't want to. Adam Black talkcontribs 13:18, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Re:July 2024

Hello Manyareasexpert, I'm afraid you are mistaken.

First, I did provide a RS and I also made this clear in the edit summary of my reverted edit. This source [4] (Frontline/Associated press) qualifies as WP:RS. As you can see, I have also improved the citation of the OHCHR report by adding a reference to the relevant paragraphs (paragraphs 35-36).

Second, and most importantly, I explicitly explained in the edit summary that this source was misrepresented in the article lead. I'm sorry to point this out to you, but your 16 July edit adding that the OHCHR published a report which didn't find "that Russia committed any war crimes" is a clear case of source misrepresentation because it attributes a claim by thejournal.ie [5] directly to the OHCHR (in quotes). As you can easily verify, the OHCHR said nothing about Russian war crimes, and in particular the OHCHR did not say that it hadn't found that Russia had committed any war crimes.

Your reverted edit has other flaws (e.g. it doesn't comply with MOS:NOBOLD), but I'd rather continue this conversation on the article talk page. Gitz (talk) (contribs) 08:12, 20 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I just noticed that you had self-reverted [6]. Regarding the category, I agree that the sources don't claim that the Ukrainian army committed a war crime; the OHCHR merely states that the incident is "emblematic" of their concern about the placement of military targets near civilian objects and the use of human shields. Presumably someone interested in war crimes committed by the Ukrainian side would be interested in this article, so the category is justified, but if you disagree, please note that the category "Russian war crimes in Ukraine" is also questionable based on the sources cited. Regards, Gitz (talk) (contribs) 08:22, 20 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I hit some wrong combination.
please note that the category "Russian war crimes in Ukraine" is also questionable

Russian source replaced with a selection of independent International and Western sources

I trust that these International and Western sources now satisfy your curiosity because, the truth always comes out.

Inevitably, Einstein’s fame and the great success of his theories created a backlash. The rising Nazi movement found a convenient target in relativity, branding it “Jewish physics” and sponsoring conferences and book burnings to denounce Einstein and his theories. The Nazis enlisted other physicists, including Nobel laureates Philipp Lenard and Johannes Stark, to denounce Einstein. One Hundred Authors Against Einstein was published in 1931. Refrain from deleting information that have trusted sources backing them, If you have an argument against a source, find proof that they may not be trusted, or find multiple other trusted sources outside of bandera's country that disprove the statements.
