If however the subject has recently been honoured with widely recognized awards or has been covered in reliable newspapers for some notable achievement, there may be a chance of acceptance. There is a very easy way to add the DEFAULTSORT (so the article files by surname in lists), and Category:Living people where appropriate, and any birth or death date category: {{subst:L|1882|1984|Brown, Annie}} would create {{DEFAULTSORT:Brown, Annie}}, Category:1882 births and Category:1984 deaths, while {{subst:L|||Smith, Jane}} would create {{DEFAULTSORT:Smith, Jane}}, Category:Living people and Category:Date of birth missing (living people). Lack of death date implies "living" (or you can add "unknown" or "missing" as the death date to suppress this). You get a lot done for a few keystrokes: I think it's a great little template. @Ipigott It's a template, {{L}}, and it's been around quite a while - I seem to remember it was left over after another template called "Lifetime" or something was deleted, but this shortcut was allowed to remain and is a wonderful saving of typing time - so few keystrokes has such a lot of output! Ah, oninvestigating I see it's a shortcut for {{Person categories}}, and a valuable saving of 16 keystrokes. I use it all the time when creating biographies. Perhaps it's time for me to remind WiR people about it. There's always something more to learn about editing!

Indeed, thanks. Is West Flemish the same as Limburgish? Google translate recognizes text from West Flemish wiki as "Limburgish", and I see no option for it as West Flemish nor mention in the article I can see of Limburgish! I have read a bit of Swedish and Danish too now, and understand quite a bit, sometimes you can spot obvious variations on German and Dutch words. Still trying to get my French, German and Italian up to a very good level. Romansch and Luxembourgish I find intriguing too, Romansch is the 4th official language of Switzerland!I

West Flemish includes a number of dialects spoken in Belgium of which Limburgish, spoken in the area bordering Maastrict is one of them. As a result of radio, TV and schooling, these dialects are dying out although there are recognized differences between Belgian Flemish and Dutch. Not so with Romansch and Luxembourgish which are thriving languages. Until Luxembourgish was adopted as a national language in 1984, it also consisted of 14 regional dialects. Now one standard version is taught. Hi, Ian, and Happy Holidays! I'm doing WP:NPP and came across Bruno Voigt, a "German political artist". When I went to his Wikidata item, though, I was stumped as its description of him is "Irish painter". If you have time to check out his biography on DE-WP, maybe there's a clue there regarding Irish roots, but I can't find anything to substantiate that myself. I'd suggest it's 2 different people but the Wikidata item (Irish painter) has the years of birth and death corresponding with those for the "German artist". Hi Ipigott -- I notice that you speak Danish as well as some Norwegian and are a member of the classical music project, so I wonder if I can interest you in filling in some more on the opera director Annilese Miskimmon? She was the artistic director at Den Jyske Opera (2012–17) & the Norwegian National Opera (2017–20), and I'm particularly looking for some reviews or other material from that timeframe, especially a balancing more-positive review of her Norwegian production of Billy Budd (the only English-language one I can find is very negative). I've looked at Draft:Narita Bahra KC and moved it to Draft:Narita Bahra as KC is not required in the title. It is not yet suitable as an article as there are no references to sources. How a notable article subject feels about an article is a basis for correction, not deletion. And indeed, there have been some sources added since the AFD started. Does she believe that the cited sources disappear if the article disappears? They don't. Any employer searching for her name would run across those sources if the Wikipedia article didn't exist. The information is already out there. Wikipedia didn't fabricate anything. She's in a position to influence the article to help her in her career. Only she can ask publishers to correct what they have said about her. This is in her best interest, but if she can't be bothered, well, that's her choice. 2024 has wrapped up, and what a full year it was for WikiProject Women in Green! Over the past year, we hosted two edit-a-thons, one themed around women's history and another on women around the world. We also managed to achieve most of our 2024 annual goals, nominating 75 articles for GA, reviewing 64 GA nominations, nominating 8 articles for FAC, peer reviewing 3 articles and reviewing 10 FAC nominations. Excellent work, and thank you to everyone involved!

For 2025 we have a new set of goals for nominations and reviews. In particular, we would like to see more articles on our Hot 100 list being improved and nominated for GA this year. If you take a look at the list and see an article you are interested in contributing to, feel free to add it and yourself to our Hot 100 project discussion. You might even find someone interested in collaborating with you!

I have just been doing some obvious linking back to Sarah Stackhouse from her dance partners and muses and see that there are some very strange other links to her from various clans people in Scotland. S-Aura: I agree with PamD that the move was a mistake. The judge is widely referred to as Surya Kant. It is not a good idea to move old articles to new titles unless there is a specific problem. This one was created six years ago. @Faehn:: As you seem pretty fluent in English, you could perhaps make use of machine translation and they post-edit the result. In my opinion, the best system us Deepl although you will need to translate the article in a few small sections if you want to benefit from free access. I rarely "translate" articles myself but rewrite them for English if other language versions appear interesting.
