María Fernanda Beltrán Figueroa is a Mexican beauty pageant titleholder from the state of Sinaloa[1] who won Miss Universe Mexico 2024 on September 7, 2024, in Cancun.[2] She represented Mexico at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant in Mexico City, where she finished as the second runner up, becoming the third Mexican to achieve that placement.[3][4][5][6]
Early life and career
Beltrán is a native of Culiacán with a background in beauty pageants and holds an academic degree in Marketing and Communication.[7] She is fluent in Spanish, English, and French.[8]
Pageantry
Fernanda participated in the Miss Grand Mexico 2023 competition held in Modular Inés Arredondo (MIA), representing the state of Sinaloa. At the end of the event, Fernanda was crowned Miss Grand Mexico by outgoing titleholder Laysha Salazar. Fernanda represented Mexico at the Miss Grand International 2023 competition held in Vietnam.
Representing Sinaloa, Fernanda competed in the 1st edition of Miss Universe Mexico held on September 7, 2024, in the Convention Centre, Cancun, Mexico. Fernanda competed against 33 other contestants and was crowned the winner of the competition by the reigning Miss Universe, Sheynnis Palacios by beating 1st runner up 'Aranza Molina' and 2nd runner up 'Karen Bustos'.
Miss Universe 2024
Representing Mexico, Fernanda participated in the Miss Universe 2024 competition held in Arena CDMX in her home country of Mexico. During the finals, Fernanda advanced to the Top 30 group of semifinalists. It was Mexico's first semifinal placement since Andrea Meza's win in Miss Universe 2020. Fernanda then advanced to the Top 12 and then the Top 5. Fernanda ended up being named the second runner up behind first runner up Nigeria's Chidimma Adetshina and the eventual winner Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark.
