Traditionally, association football clubs in the Republic of Ireland have been classified as either senior, intermediate or junior. These classifications effectively categorise clubs who compete in national, provincial and county leagues respectively.

Riverstown FC Riverstown FC is an amateur football club based in Glanmire, Co.Cork, Ireland
Riverstown was formed in 1994 by Mick Mooney, Conor O’Leary & Garry Carroll. A local trio who played with Brooklodge FC. They wanted to facilitate and promote the development of Soccer in the Glanmire and surrounding area & set up a new club Riverstown FC.
Riverstown play out of the GACA pitch in Brooklodge a community field. AGMs & club lotto’s are held in the Riverstown Inn Bar in Glanmire. Mick Mooney is the current chairman and president of the club & Darren Barry is the treasurer & secretary.
Riverstown Senior Mens team was set up by Mick Mooney with the help of David Dennehy , Pat Mooney & Conor O’Leary in late 2012. The Senior Men’s won there first league in the 2022/2023 winning the division 2 in the MSL.
Riverstown FC, a vibrant and community-focused football club is dedicated to fostering a love for the sport among players of all ages and skill levels.
What started out as a local club has now developed into one of Corks fastest growing clubs.
