Cabinet of Ontario, 1948–1949
The Kennedy Ministry was the combined cabinet (formally the Executive Council of Ontario ) that governed Ontario from October 19, 1948, to May 4, 1949. It was led by the 15th Premier of Ontario , Leslie Frost . The ministry was made up of members of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario , which commanded a majority of the seats in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario throughout its duration.
The ministry replaced the Drew ministry following the resignation of Premier George A. Drew . The Kennedy ministry governed through the middle part of the 23rd Parliament of Ontario , largely on an interim basis pending the 1949 PC leadership convention .
Kennedy resigned in 1949 and was succeeded as Premier of Ontario by Leslie Frost . The Conant ministry and the Kennedy ministry are the only ministries in Ontario history to neither win nor lose an election.
