The Town of Keenesburg is a Statutory Town in Weld County , Colorado , United States. The population was 1,250 at the 2020 United States Census .[ 5] It is home to The Wild Animal Sanctuary .
History
Keenesburg was named for Les Keene, an early settler.[ 7]
Geography
Keenesburg is located at 40°6′32″N 104°31′13″W / 40.10889°N 104.52028°W / 40.10889; -104.52028 (40.108821, -104.520228).[ 8]
According to the United States Census Bureau , the town has a total area of 0.6 square miles (1.6 km2 ), of which, 0.6 square miles (1.6 km2 ) of it is land and 1.75% is water.
Government
As of January 2023, the mayor of Keenesburg is Aron Lam.[ 9] [ 10]
