Geography
Jaynagar Majilpur railway station is located at 22°10′10″N 88°24′58″E / 22.1695702°N 88.4161432°E / 22.1695702; 88.4161432 . It has an average elevation of 8 metres (26 ft).[ 5]
History
In 1882, the Eastern Bengal Railway constructed a 1,676 mm (5 ft 6 in )-wide broad-gauge railway from Sonarpur Junction to Jaynagar Majilpur.[ 6]
Electrification
Electrification from Sonarpur Junction to Jaynagar Majilpur was completed with 25 kV AC overhead system in 1965–66.[ 7]
Station complex
The platform is very much well sheltered. The station possesses many facilities including water and sanitation. It is well connected to the SH-1 . There is a proper approach road to this station.[ 8]
