Dharm Jagaran Samiti (DJS) is an Indian organisation working to re-convert Muslims and Christians back to Hinduism, who were deceived to covert to Muslim and Christian religion, with a coordinating committee called "Dharam Jagaran Samanvay Samiti".[1][2] It is a right-wingHindu nationalist organisation.[3][4]
The Dharm Jagaran Samiti is considered a member of the Sangh Parivar group, an umbrella term for Hindu nationalist organisations led by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).[5][6] The goal of the Dharma Jagran Committee is to return to Hinduism those people whose ancestors were converted to Islam during the Mughal period. They also oppose Christian missionaries who convert Dalit Hindus to Christianity, which is allegedly done by giving various inducements.[7][8][9][10]
