Neelam, who still hates Lakshmi, begins to despise Parvati, after their first meeting. Neelam rebukes Parvati's mother, unaware that it's Lakshmi.
It is revealed that Lakshmi had a son born with Paro but she lost her son due to a riot in the village. Malishka and Rishi are shown married for seven years. However, Rishi still lives with Lakshmi's memories, and Parvati's behaviour reminds him of her. Ayush (Rishi's cousin) has also married Anushka, though they don't love each other. Soon the student exchange program comes to an end with Rohan and Paro returning to their homes. When Paro receives a scholarship from Rohan's school, Lakshmi decides to shift back to Mumbai, much to Shalu's disapproval, to ensure a brighter future for Paro. The three shift back to Mumbai and start living with Rano while Lakshmi starts working as a teacher at Rohan's school. Rishi and Lakshmi finally meet each other when Rishi had saved her from a goon and her one-sided obsessive lover, Ranjeet whom wanted to marry Lakshmi to obtain her property.
Rishi is happy to see Lakshmi alive. Lakshmi rejects Rishi and his love as she feels betrayed when she sees that Rishi and Malishka are married. The Oberoi family learn that Lakshmi is alive and Paro is her daughter. Anushka becomes insecure due to Ayush's attention towards Shalu. Neelam’s sister, Aanchal, and Malishka conspire to transfer Paro to a juvenile detention facility. However, Lakshmi and Paro, with Shalu’s assistance, flee to another city. Rishi also joins them, but Malishka’s machinations lead to their capture by the police. Malishka manipulates Lakshmi into believing that Rishi has contacted the police. In a moment of selflessness, Lakshmi takes the blame for Neelam’s condition, stating that it was her attempt, not Paro’s.
Soon, Neelam discovers that Paro is her granddaughter and subsequently withdraws the case. She subsequently files a petition for Paro’s custody from Lakshmi. Paro learns that Rishi is her father and informs the judge that she desires to reside with both her parents. The judge stipulates that Rishi and Lakshmi must cohabitate for a minimum of three months to facilitate Paro’s well-being. Lakshmi and Rishi rekindle their love for one another, but Malishka attempts to convince Lakshmi that Rishi is solely using her for Paro’s custody. Balwinder, who still harbors feelings for Lakshmi, returns after seven years, aided by Malishka. During a playful moment, Rohan falls from the stair railing despite Lakshmi’s warnings and sustains internal bleeding. Malishka’s attempts to frame Lakshmi fail as Paro reveals the truth. In a selfless act, Lakshmi secretly donates her blood to Rohan. Rohan subsequently learns about his adoption and confides in Lakshmi his desire to locate his biological parents. Paro is abducted by Balwinder due to Malishka’s plan, leading Rishi and Lakshmi to accuse each other of Paro’s disappearance. Rishi and Lakshmi resolve to cease their struggles, as Malishka engages in a physical altercation with Balwinder but ultimately succumbs to his advances, resulting in her pregnancy. Malishka devises a plan to murder Lakshmi on Diwali, but her scheme is thwarted when Kiran discovers Malishka’s pregnancy. Assuming the child to be Rishi’s, she announces her pregnancy to the entire family, causing widespread shock and confusion. This revelation strains the relationship between Rishi and Lakshmi. Rishi vows to reconcile with Lakshmi and confesses his love for her in an intoxicated state. After a kiss, they consummate their relationship, much to Malishka’s dismay.
After Rishi and Lakshmi consummate their relationship, Malishka discovers them sleeping together and devises a plan to take Lakshmi's place. Malishka induces Lakshmi into unconsciousness and removes her from the bedroom. Seizing the opportunity, Malishka replaces Lakshmi and fabricates a narrative to make it appear as though she was intimate with Rishi. Exploiting Rishi's intoxicated state and lack of recollection, Malishka convinces everyone that she was the one who spent the night with him.
Subsequently, Rishi attempts to prevent Lakshmi from leaving, but Lakshmi insists on her departure. He pleads with her to allow him an opportunity to explain his innocence and deny any involvement in the incident. However, Lakshmi, visibly distraught, refuses to believe him. She accuses him not only of breaking her heart but also of extinguishing her will to live. In a moment of despair, she abruptly leaves the Oberoi household, convinced that Rishi has betrayed her and was contemplating suicide. Fortunately, she is rescued by strangers who implore her to reconsider her actions and consider the well-being of her children. Lakshmi subsequently discovers that she is pregnant with Rishi’s child. As a result, she decides to reconcile with Rishi. However, Malishka deceives Rishi and the Oberois by revealing that she is also pregnant with Rishi’s child, but the child is actually conceived with Balwinder.
Consequently, Lakshmi chooses to keep her pregnancy a secret from both the Oberois and Rishi. Malishka's baby shower preparations are underway, and Lakshmi, despite her initial discontent, is attempting to maintain a composed demeanor.
